Wish we had a play caller who has done it before at an NFL level, but hey, the NFL is a good ole boys club at heart.

But at the same time, coaches have to start calling plays at some point. I do like the fact that Rodgers liked him and he was brought back by a different regime for that specific reason

I don’t see it that way. Get me a smart, creative mind that can teach, regardless of experience. If you’ve done you’re proper DD, then you should have a pretty good idea if that person can also adapt and adjust as well.

Through all this, I’m actually most excited about the Ian asst GM hiring. Don’t know much about him, but I’m just excited that we’re FINALLY building a FO staff that will include “football people”. Been tired of having a bean counter and a fan pulling the strings all these years. Whether or not these new guys will work out remains to be seen. But to have multiple minds in the room making football decisions is awfully exciting.

I was good with Poles at first but every time he makes another hire i get more and more uninspired by him.

A defensive HC.

A OC who's never called plays and has spent more time in the league as a WR's coach than time working with QB's.

Means nothing to me. Rodgers doesn’t need a QBs coach. Rodgers probably likes him because Rodgers doesn’t like being told “no”

I need to see 3 winning seasons in a row and then I’ll believe. Not just one winning season then disaster (Nagy) or two then disaster (Lovie).

If you look at the past 20 years or so and if they could even just split with the packers the bears story would be very different. With no Rodgers this should not be hard to accomplish.

I was going to say something along the lines of this. Puferflus has a definite advantage in his division, with Rodgers gone. He could be mediocre and still make the playoffs every year based off that alone.

Yeah if Rodgers comes back he will probably kick their ass again and win the division. Though Fields did hang with him for one half, maybe he can do it for the whole game next year?

Exactly !

It's been reported that, one of the other candidates actually came in with a plan for Fields .
However.....some ppl here will tell us ....." we don't know what happened in the interview. We weren't there".

:obama:
I mean Im sure Eberflus has a “plan” I’m just surprised that Poles thought hiring Getsy was the best plan.

Maybe Getsy is gonna be good, nobody knows right now. But based on the Bears track record, we have reason to be skeptical lol
