NEVER in my life have I ever seen lightening and thunder during a snowstorm till last night. The SNOWPOCALYSE IS REAL! And you are all witnesses! SMITE ME OUR SNOW LORD! SMITE ME HARD!

In the last two hours, I've watched the number of snow accumulation in the last 24 hours on weather.com go from 13.8 - 15.5 in my zip code. and it's still snowing, and that doesn't include all the snow that was already on the ground.

My car is on the left. And that was about 3 hours ago.

That picture is so totally awesome! Did you take that or did you find it somewhere else?

I didn't take it. Didn't have any of that down by us. I'm totally jealous of all you that got to witness that. Don't know why, but there's just something seriously cool about it.

You passed up owning a house, which would have been cheaper, to rent an apartment because of a few days out of the entire year where you would have to shovel? Huh?

Not quite, I'm a poor college student, I'm not buying a house anytime soon that's for damn sure, it would have been renting, and the apartments right across the street from the buildings my classes are in. But I digress.

Holy shit LSD. I saw that stuff last night on WGN but those cars are literally buried. Why anybody tried driving anywhere lately is beyond me.

About 12:30 I was snow blowing I got some of the loudest thunder I think I've ever heard but before the Bolt of Lightening scared the shit out of me. I can't remember seeing lightening that clear during a blizzard. Unfortunately I was removing snow not picture taking.

There was lightening last night on the way back from the Hawks/BJs game that lit up the sky, North of Columbus.

That's because the Good Lord knew that YOU, His special angel was visiting and wanted to herald it in a snazzy, big bang way with meteorological "jazz fingers" and pizazz! Throwin' up signs and showing props for the Helmet.

The driveway is somewhere under that 4.5' drift.

That LSD pic RK posted is awesome. Is it wrong that I went to bed thinking there will be some awesome pics like that to look at?

Soooo much fucking snow.... Some of the drifts I had were 4-5 feet in my yard/driveway. The snow mountains when everyone was done plowing/shoveling/blowing their driveways are almost ten feet tall in some places. My parents have a south facing driveway, and the drifts in front of their garage were six feet tall. No joke. Luckily there were a bunch of guys riding around the neighborhood on their ATVs with plows on the front. Paid a guy $30 to do my parents' driveway. It took him nearly an hour. They have a HUGE driveway. We had to shovel out the 10 feet or so in front of the garage by hand, as it was over the top of the ATV.

I've never seen snow like this in my lifetime. Pretty fucking cool actually. I'll need to go around and get a bunch of pictures.

The culdesac in front of my house was finally plowed around 6pm today. The plower wasn't even a village worker, just some guy driving around.

If I lived over there I would have been pissed, even though I wouldn't be going anywhere.

I know my roommates car is stuck inside the garage. The snow in the alley is not going to go away anytime soon, especially since the City tends to not know how to get to my street in the first place. (For the record, we've already filed a couple of complaints in regards to not even getting trash cans at our new residence, even after being here for a month.)

Sure the neighbors all clean up the alley as much as they can, but the snow has to go somewhere...

The snow around the garage is at least 2 ft up on the door, and after shoveling the front and back yards... yeah, I'll pass on the garage.

In short, you can guess that the CTA will be used frequently the next few days...
