And I bangged this out in a half hour.

I laid down the one track, then I recorded a separate track with the same riff. I know I could just double it up, but I like the way it sounds. You can hear a few times where I lose the rhythm, but get right back on that train, chugging along. It's in drop C tuning.

Yes, but you should make sure everyone knows I wrote this. Because it's so much better than your crap, I don't want everyone getting confused.

Love you, Pumpkintits.

I helped. Like I said, you had the main melody and riffs, I added some flourishes and accents.

No guff it's better then my shit. I pour on the distortion so no one can hear how shitty I am.

I think I have it dropped 2 whole steps too. I think it was tuned to a C. I don't know if a bass is even used in the original. Most metal bassists aren't that good either. Converted guitarists anyway.

Do you just have a drum track plug in for your recording stuff?

Right now I'm using a digital multitrack recorder - the BOSS Micro BR . Its a fantastic little device - about as big as a paperback book, selling for around $200. It has 80 built in guitar effects and 120 drum patterns - you can create your own too, though I'm too lazy to.

I also have drum patterns on my keyboards which I use sometimes, or add drums manually using the keyboard keys.

Sometimes I use the Audacity program on the computer either alone or in combination with the BOSS.

You should make it Downloadable so I can have fun with it...

I hope you don't mind - if you do, I'll immediately delete it!

I found it difficult with the rhythym, I'm more of a regular rock'n roll guy..

http://soundcloud.com/ginnie-1/chug2

Details:

Added drums - done manually on the keyboard

Bass - Dropped low E to a C ... too low for my instrument but...

Keyboards - kept to the background - "Bolero" style...

I don't mind at all. Take anything you want and add shit to it. I like hearing other musicians ideas and additions and subtractions.

The rhythm is really strange, but I really like weird rhythms and time signatures, although I will never be able to do some more wacky time sigs.

Love the gunshots or whatever that was at the end.

Cool.

I was outside my element attempting this, but thought I'd give it a go.

There's certainly a huge underbelly to it. Very deep and foreboding. Be a good soundtrack to some post apocalytic zombie massacre.

Yes, that is a gunshot at the end - slowed down and deepened a bit.

Man you guys are good.

I got my tax refund back and might be looking for a guitar. I like Cids white guitar, minus the chick (no offense). I need a solid amp and effects too.

So I'm gonna be looking around.

How much are you looking to spend? I'm thinking of selling my Epiphone Les Paul Goth...

It will be my first guitar that is officially mine. I've been using my uncles Peavey for the past two years. I wouldn't say I'm a beginner, more intermediate. Solo's I still have some trouble with depending on the song.

Probably in the $250-350 range, maybe 400 if it's a great deal.

The first thing I'd check out is used guitars - if a guitar is a few years old and still plays excellent and feels really good then you know it'll still be good in the future. With new guitars, you never know what deficiencies it has sometimes until a few years down the road. Even two new guitars that are the same exact model will feel and play different sometimes.

Plus, you might be able to get lets say a $500 guitar (when it was new) for half that price.

Well... I am looking to sell it for about $300... it's in practically brand new condition and only because I don't play it all that often because I have so many others. Comes with a seat belt strap that's has strap locks on it. Only thing it really needs is new strings. I'll try and get some pics up here of it.
