Your own pics? If you upload them to photobucket or other website like it, they usually have a link where you can just copy and paste.

I have my shock mount case on the way, when I have my full set up post it up here with full deets. It should be useful for anyone interested in bass.

I did, but I have a terrible time comprehending shit I read. I do so much better actually doing it. I am a hands on learner.

I am sure you'll do fine. Those guys have no clue the force of low end you are bringing!

The jam was a laff and a half...

First of all, the guitar player (old hippie type) had his guitar tuned down three semitones (WTF)...so I had to detune my bass and guitar really, really loooooooow...

Then we played in the key of E for two and a half hours - not just in the key of E, but all E. No chord changes really. I don't know if he always plays that way or played it like that because he didn't know if I could play other notes!

Was kind of silly - he smoked up a lot and played screaming leads through all these pedal effects. He said to me, "I bet you have never played with someone like me before"... and I agreed.

Don't know yet if I'll do it again.

Why down tune from E just to play in E? Semitones I assume are half steps, Half step being E to Eb. I can do down tune, you can get a real nice chug on. I once had 13 gauge strings on my Ibanez and had it dropped from an E to A. I had the walls rattling those days.

I am not a fan of leads or solos just for the sake of soloing. It is silly and just guitar masturbation. I feel it needs to add to the song, not be apart from it.

Thats when you need competent musicians. Ginnie sounds like the guy you played with fell off his rocker a while back, I couldn't think of anything more useless than everyone tuning down. Especially on bass, if the guy had a brain he would play with his guitar downtuned alone and play according, the bass downtuning just spells disaster.

What I should have said is that the guitar player's guitar was tuned "somewhere" around three half steps down... he just expected me to tune to his guitar, wherever it was at the time.

From what I gather, this guitar wasn't purposely downtuned, he just never bothers to tune it properly. It was in tune with itself of course but I don't think he really knew what the tuning was.

Hey, I have a new song:

I wish I could sing better, but it is what it is.

EDIT:

and a newer one:

Both those songs sound like they were just fun to play and record.

Yes they were.

I didn't worry too much about the finished result.

If any of you have kids in band programs and are looking for quality student winds/brass instruments I highly recommend Kessler & Sons. I have nothing but good things to say about them. Professional and quality customer service. Quality student instruments that won't break the bank.

Wasn't sure where to put this so I just threw it in here. Found this on another site. I thought it was kind of funny.

* POWER METAL

The protagonist arrives riding a white unicorn, escapes from the dragon, saves the princess and makes love to her in an enchanted forest.

* THRASH METAL

The protagonist arrives, fights the dragon, saves the princess and fucks her.

* HEAVY METAL

The protagonist arrives on a Harley, kills the dragon, drinks a few beers and fucks the princess.

* FOLK METAL

The protagonist arrives with some friends playing accordions, violins, flutes and many more weird instruments, the dragon falls asleep (because of all the dancing). Then all leave........ without the princess.

* VIKING METAL

The protagonist arrives in a ship, kills the dragon with his mighty axe, skins the dragon and eats it, rapes the princess to death, steals her belongings and burns the castle before leaving.

* DEATH METAL

The protagonist arrives, kills the dragon, fucks the princess and kills her, then leaves.

* BLACK METAL

The protagonist IS the dragon, dwells in the heart of the night with in a castle full of hellhounds and eternal flames. He kills the sassy knight, fucks the noble steed and sacrifices the princess to Satan.

* GORE METAL

The protagonist arrives, kills the dragon and spreads his guts in front of the castle, fucks the princess and kills her. Then he fucks the dead body again, slashes her belly and eats her guts. Then he fucks the carcass for the third time, burns the corpse and fucks it for the last time.

* DOOM METAL

The protagonist arrives, sees the size of the dragon and thinks he could never beat him, then he gets depressed and commits suicide. The dragon eats his body and the princess as dessert. That's the end of the sad story.

* PROGRESSIVE METAL

The protagonist arrives with a guitar and plays a solo of 26 minutes. The dragon kills himself out of boredom. The protagonist arrives to the princess' bedroom, plays another solo with all the techniques and tunes he learned in the last year of the conservatory. The princess escapes looking for the 'HEAVY METAL' protagonist.

* GLAM METAL

The protagonist arrives, the dragon laughs at the guy's appearance and lets him enter. He steals the princess' make up and tries to paint the castle in a beautiful pink colour.

* NU METAL

The protagonist arrives in a run down Honda Civic and attempts to fight the dragon but he burns to death when his moronic baggy clothes catch fire.
