Im not giving up valueable picks to find out when we waited for ever to draft a franchis qb that we have never had,just to throw it away.....
Our first pick has to an olineman.....and a center with the second/no later than the 3rd.
If Poles deems we need a dlineman,then 2nd rounder should get us a good one.

I have no problem with not wanting to trade for Garrett, but I don't think Mack's injuries are a good reason.

I don't think it's his choice. And adding Garrett and some OL along with the coach we stole from Detroit (who was responsible for the majority of their success), the Bears will be a lot closer than many think.

They're way better than 5-12, and I expect them to add a lot.

Agreed. D Linemen don't fall a cliff at 29 or 30. Garrett was DPOY a year ago and in the discussion in 2024.

If they could get him without touching this year's draft capital, and use picks from 2026 and beyond I'd be all for it. For the right price.

I'd rather see if a player like Travon Walker could be had for less than what it would cost for Garrett. Walker isn't nearly as good as Garrett, but more than enough to help vastly improve the Bears defensively without gridlocking their cap and decimating their draft capital.

I understand that.

No player says "I want to go to a team that was 5-12 last year." We all know that. They want to go to the Chiefs.

But when they say "I want to go to a winner", they don't take into account salary cap status of those "winners", whether the winner already is set at DE, etc. While Garrett would be an upgrade over most anyone, a team with good DEs is not trading for him.

How do you determine which teams are winners when there is turnover in the playoffs every year. KC and Philly can't fit his salary. Detroit, Minnesota? They're in good shape at DE. Tampa? Get serious.

I'm sure Jayden Daniels wanted to go to a winner, too. But here we are.

I think it is more Browns would be dumb to trade him for a pick in the 20s if someone is offering a top 15 pick so Garrett may have to settle for a team that didnt make the playoffs last year but has potential. Hence I named teams that fit that including the Bears.

I think the GM was excessive when he thought it would take a first, two third and a player.

He's paid what you can buy the best DE in Free Agency for. He's 30.

We should dangle Taylor/Walker and a second.
