Not sure how calling plays the players can't run helps either, right? It would actually show competence from our HC to reduce some of the overthinking and let them play.

Still will be light years ahead of the John Fox offense. And it might limit some of Nagy's tendency to be too cute and gimmicky...

He's scaling back a scaled back offense... Great.

Just wondering how people don't see this as him saying our QB has brain issues....

The goal is to give Trubs (and the rest of the offense) as much as they can handle. So if he sees them not being able to handle it, it is scaled back a bit. That's smart coaching.

Now if he is forced to scale it back to Fox levels? That would be an issue...

There is reading something and then there is reading into something.....all the players on offense need to know especially Trubisky.....no problem if they stop adding plays and let him concentrate on them......

Run, run, pass, punt. Not complex, just execute. Winning. Winning. Winning.

This will make the Bears offense more predictable and easy to defend. How will this increase offensive scoring?
Fox had a scaled back offense and it didn’t help.
Some people say the Bears have the dumbest fanbase in the league and those people are right. Like really, really right.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
This isn't just about Mitch. No unit on the O has played up to their potential so far. Too much too soon. Should also help Nagy's play calling as well. Sometimes it's like he's pulling them out of a hat. They'll be plenty of plays for any D set.

Running a few plays really well is better than running a ton of plays mediocrely.

This is the time to do it.

They have built up a critcal mass of plays over 3 weeks. Now it is time to see which ones worked and which ones didn’t.

This is a pretty normal process for most teams. In training camp you install a ton of plays and formations and slowly you drop the ones that don’t work.

The run plays that feature pulls should be scaled back, the Bears do not pull well on the line.

Leno has played really well so you can keep the protections that call for solo blocks by him and scrap some of the formations tha protect him.

It is more than the QB. The Bears should have a pretty good sense about everyone on offense.

Key words....should have. This early bye week is going to tell us a lot about the progress of our HC as well.

The right thing to do would be to roll with Chase Daniels a vet QB who can run the whole play book. Let Mitch sit and learn, if the defense wasn’t a SB caliber defense then I could see sacrificing the team for Mitch.

You have to give the plays a chance.

You can’t run them once, fail, and scrap them.

But we are getting close to 200 offensive plays, which means some stuff has not worked multiple times.

We’ll see how it goes Sunday. I hope scaling back the offense produces TDs against one of the worst passing defense.

We have no idea if Chase can run the entire playbook.

My guess is none of the WRs or the TEs can run the entire playbook either.

Everyone is learning and screwing up, we just don’t care about them. Kyle Long missed a bunch of blitzes on Sunday.
