Overpaid is always relative to market value. Market value doesn't necessarily fall in line with production. Ben seems to be one of the unfortunate guys whose market value is far lower than his production would suggestion ... nobody else seems to want to give him the money he wants, so if we pay it to him, regardless of whether he statistically deserves it, then he would be overpaid.
Deng is already hurting our flexibility, I think it's better to lose Ben than get him on a hard to trade contract. And I really think anything over about 8 million teams will consider Gordon overpaid. If you're a GM you have to consider how the fans will take a move, and it seems fans still consider Gordon to be a no defense ball hogging chucker.
