Nope, that was not a great clue, it is mostly one very sharp cop with family troubles, the rest of the cops are just cops. For the thieves everybody has an expertise but the leader is brilliant and tough.

'Heat'???

I remember a trailer for a heist film, like 6 yrs ago, where there's an older fatherly sage heist guy, like Hopkins, Michael Caine or Sutherland, younger guy under his wing, and they're getting onto a boat in some sunny place. But I can't remember the name. I didn't see it. I'd try to google it, but there's just too many films.

I remember that too, but not it.

'Heat'???

That is a winner. Congrats you're next up.

An exterminator kills his wife and then the story really begins.

Naked lunch. Fun fact: if you ever want to see david cronenberg get beat up, watch boozecan. Quite possibly one of the worst films ever made, and Canadian.

Bzzt. Wrong.

I'll add a clue: its soundtrack included the debut of an enormously popular song.

I just saw it for the first time a few weeks ago. I really like Lynch's work. There were a lot of Twin Peaks actors in Wild at Heart. I think folks would have needed to see it at the time to get the most out of it. I read a few current reviews that said they thought a lot more of it in 1990. I liked some aspects of it, some scenes, some of the humor, style and imagery, but the story was pretty depressing, and not in a good way.

Lynch is a maniac, some of his stuff is exceptional, some is too far over the top. I liked Wild at Heart, but the Wizard of Oz shout out was random AF.

I agree. He is a ‘cilantro’ director in that you and your friends either seem to love him or hate him. I got introduced to him through Eraserhead which I still don’t undertsand but i love his use of music, even Chris Isaak, who turned out to be a pretty game performer and I like his music. He is actually a great guitarist on them hollow-bodies

I think he can be pretentious and overly obtuse (mulholland falls) but still has moments of brilliance

A married couple heading for divorce stays a motel that is really just a trap setup by serial killers.
