I emailed KC and he told me they value Hinrich over Gordon. Said leading up to draft they chose Hinrich over Gordon and knew they were letting Gordon walk. Could of easily traded Kirk as he good value around the league and good amount of interest

That means the Hinrich lovers that matter are Paxson and Forman. They listen to radio talk shows too much I guess....;)

I believe they have some other tricks up their sleeves...

We can pick one up. We can use the MLE and trade James or Timmy down the road or just sign a guy for 2 mil which we can get

There's Carney,Barnes,Wafer,Parker any of those guys for 2 mil will be good

Which of those guys can guard shooting guards adequately? I'm not being facetious ... I really don't know.

So basically we are losing Ben Gordon, Tyrus Thomas, and the ability to leverage our $25 million in expiring contracts to get more talent back on longer term contracts for Joe Johnson.

The same Joe Johnson who scored 0.7 points more per a game than Gordon, but did it on a 3.9% less TS% than Gordon did his 20.7 PPG on. The same Joe Johnson who has a career 110 D-Rtg, which is 3 worse than Gordon's career mark.

So basically we are throwing all that away, for a player who is worse than Ben Gordon...but who we're going to be paying Johnson much more.

But hey, at least he's tall!

He is tall and a better basketball player, who plays defense.

But he's a worse scorer. And he is a worse defender by every metric. His career D-Rtg is 3 worse than Gordon, and Gordon somehow managed to have 0.3 more career defensive win shares than Johnson, despite playing in 225 less career games.

Johnson is a better rebounder and passer. Gordon is a better scorer and defender.

I'll take the better scorer and defender at the shooting guard position, over the bestter rebounder and passer. But that's just me...especially when the former comes at half the price of the latter.

Johnson was there 3 option kinda like last resort

Team was built around him, they bought Bibby there for him, Johnson was the franchise player.

Gordon is not a better defender than Johnson...Johnson is also a better ballhandler than Gordon. Johnson can actually play PG if he had to. He is a better player. Stats don't tell the whole story...believe me.

If Gordon's not a better defender than Johnson, can you please explain why Gordon has more defensive win shares than Johnson, despite playing in 225 fewer games?

I have watched Johnson play, and I have watched Gordon play...Gordon is worse defensively. Do you think Paxson looks at those damn stats you come up with? They let Gordon go so evidently not.

Johnson is better defender when he wants to be. Due to Gordon's limitations he play his ass of on defense on most possessions probably everyone while Johnson play defense on the ones that really counts so he probably never plays defense. To sum it up Gordon and Johnson both are not defensive specialist while there probably just average defenders at best

Out of the players who played more than 398 games in the NBA, 544 have a better total of defensive win shares than Gordon....Joe Johnson isn't one of them.

Out of guys who have played 398 or less career NBA games (the amount Gordon played), only 14 guys in NBA history since I believe 1980, have had more defensive win shares than Gordon.

Apply the same to Johnson's 623 career games or less, and you have 132 players who had a better DWS total than Johnson.

What's this say about Gordon and Johnson?

I don't know how anyone could consider Joe Johnson a good defender. He's tall, but a terrible defender.
