So if Joe decides he doesn't want to manage a rebuilding process, who are the candidates you would want and who you would think they will hire (not always the same thing)?

Why don't we just wait. I'm sure we will fleece someone for their manager and send them Darwin Barney in return. :smug2:

Mike Maddux is the first choice after Girardi. Im intrigued by Brad Ausmus to be honest.

Wasn't Maddux originally offered the job 2 years ago? I mean if Texas loses tonight he may even be the Rangers manager. What if Ron Washington is available?

Only way Ron Washington is the manager of the Cubs is if Theo and them like to take the ride on the white line railroad!!

If Joe says no then it is anyone's guess. All we know is experience and has a track record with developing. Madden is another that fills the bill.

I wouldn't mind them considering mike scioscia. The angel's could scape goat him for their problems this year. There was a period of time not long ago he was considered one of the best in the game. It could just be a case of his message getting lost after being there for so long.

Barney and some free Big Mac's out of their McDonnalds would buy out Madden.

That depends on what TB wants to do with Zobrist to a certain degree, imho.

I see lots of people wanting Joe and from Theo's comments it sure as hell seems Joe fits the criteria. He is plan A B and C. If we dont get him then it can be anyone from mike amddux to brad ausmus.

I just hope its not a 2-3 week
long process like last tme with interviews and garbage..
makes no sense to fire sveum with a year left unless you have someone In mind with a common interest already. .. it has to be Girard or a veteran manager that didnt have a job last yr and they already spoke too...

Someone who has worked with young players.

I don't know if Tampa has anyone worth looking at, but Maddon and his guys do wonders with rookies and young players.

Why would we care how long it takes as long as they get the right guy?
