Meh. Lets see what Cortland can do. I did not want Warren. Would have rather traded down like everyone else, but I guess there were no takers. I wonder if Stewart dropped far enough, they would entertain trading up to get him. better yet he gets to the 2nd pick and we pick up a developmental OT as well. That would be a good draft.

I agree with all these points.

Not a fan. It makes more sense than Warren based on what Ben Johnson likes out of a tight end but we didn’t really need another pass catcher.

I guess we can all enjoy watching Caleb overthrow guys when he’s running for his life after a couple oline injuries
There was not a top 20 worthy OT available at 10. Loveland was the #5 prospect per NFL.com Not in love with the pick but the 1st 9 went about as bad as possible for the Bears.

I'm actually still in somewhat of a shock with the Loveland pick. I love the player and 100% understand how he's going to be a weapon for BJ and CW but i just didn't want TE and then when they said Loveland instead of Warren just took me back a little, and i actually think Loveland is the better fit with this offense and think he'll be a stud. This one is just going to take me the night to shake the shock.

You should get out more, I promise you will find out that two TE packages are much more common than 3 DE/DT/OG packages.

Kmet is an inline TE. Loveland is a move TE that will get a ton of snaps
The rookie DT or DE would have out snapped Loveland. BJ only runs 12 personnel about 38% of the time.

You should just shut the **** up

Says the guy with the most meatball takes on the entire forum 😂

Bro, you're an absolute tool. I don't give a **** about your shitty football takes

They probably could've traded back and STILL got Loveland
I'm sure they had lots of offers.

Only so many balls to go around. Kmet is now a 13 million dollar blocking TE. I guess Johnson really values those slightly undersized hybrid TE types.
There are plenty of passes to go around to 4-5 receivers. Kmet is overpaid and always has been, he's a fan favorite because he is a local guy. Loveland will make Kmet's job easier at the end of the day.

Loveland is the safer pick. Warren was a one season wonder. While Loveland has a longer track record while being almost 2 years younger than Warren. Warren is about to be 23 while Loveland just turned 21. If Warren was actually any good it wouldn't have taken 5 years to show it.

Why are you here talking Detroit Lions draft? Did all the Lions boards get shut down for the draft or something?

Johnson has also said that he'll tailor the offense to it's personnel. Clearly the strength of the team now appears to be 12 personnel, again, unless Johnson thinks Kmet is a stiff.

Loveland immediately steps in as a high level pass catcher at the move TE position. He's capable of splitting out wide and winning 1-on-1's while Rome/DJ move inside to the slot to give the defense fits. Kmet can't do that other than be a jump ball threat in the red zone.

Looks like Kmet will stay inside and help on the edges. Johnson's offense last year helped the tackles a lot more than ours did last year.
