Figured I would start this since I have some queries.

1. Faceoffs (I dont have trouble against people) but I am fucking brutal in with circle with my Center on BAP against the CPU. I cannot win a faceoff to save my life, i think im hovering around 10% right now. 90% of the time they just tie me up and theres not a damn thing I can do and I randomize my approach every time, but they always have an answer.

2. Tying people up in front of the net, I get it done to me all the time, yet have no idea how to initiate it when im on defense.

3. An observation, i am glad I can finally play a power forward and actually hit people. I basically gave up in NHL 11 trying to hit, my hit stats would be dismal. I just finished a dominant BAP game, I had 3 goals 2 assists and 15 fuckin hits I was a damn semi truck out there. I was lucky if I could get a hit a game in NHL 11.

1.) Faceoffs are rock, paper, scissors...although tie ups are no fun. There are 4 ways to draw the puck back. backhand and back, backhand and up (which will do a stick lift and sweep back). Then there is the forehand same thing, back and up. The easiest thing for me to do is watch how the opposing center sets his stick and then match it and then you are just going to beat him by being faster. Now if I set my stick first, I watch how he sets and then decide how to counter. Like if I set backhand and he sets forehand. I have to do backhand up since it trumps forehand back. I think forehand up beats tie ups because you tie up the center and kick the puck to the d man. Play with it a bit.

2.) To tie up in front of the net use the right stick and aim it towards whoever you want to tie up and you are going to have to match their movements to keep them tied up.

3.) Also I have to admit I played PWF in NHL 11 and had no issues once i got some points into hitting. Now online yeah hitting was next to impossible for me unless I played Defensive Dman

I dont know how you did it, at one point I had over 90 hitting power I made hitting easier with the tuner, and 90% of the time id still just bounce off a guy unless it was one of those perfectly lined up hits and you have about a 5 or 6 step charge. Whereas the computer could get no skating start be standing 3 inches from me and just dump me to the ice.

Aggression, weight and strength make a difference for checking too.

I didnt have really high aggression but my skater was 6'0 215lbs and was in the 80's for strength at peak. It doesnt matter now I suppose in NHL12 im a veritable wrecking ball. 15 hits in one game, un fucking real by comparison to 11.

Yeah dude far too small to be a hitting power forward. my PWFs are always 6'4" 225lbs.

Yeah one of my games last night I have 15 hits. in the CHL I'd get 20 hits a game regularly.

A normal game is 4-5 but towards the end of the night I was smashing everything. Yeah 1 game had 5 goals and that was the 15 hit game. Poor edmonton they got beat down. They are all small and squishy.

I still have a shot at getting 50 in 39. I have 42 with like 36 games played. It is a stretch and I'm probably not going to get it but man I am fighting for it. Sucks since I get ZERO PP, PK, or OT time. Damn ducks!!! You'd better give me some special teams time next season or I'm playing my 3 seasons and taking my talents elsewhere!!!!

I got drafted first overall by Toronto and worked my way up to their first line. I never get special teams either. DAMN LEAFS!!

Gordie Howe hat trick is the easiest legend stat to get in the game. I do like how they force you to play real minutes now. You cant just stay on the ice for 75% of the game padding your stats, much more of a challenge. I mean in the previous be a pros I could shatter all of gretzkys single season records in my first BAP season, fairly easily.

Im not doing bad now by any stretch 12g 14a in 15Gms, but I would normally be pushing 25g at this point.

The hardest legend stat has got to be first goal on first shift and first shot. I restarted my BAP 7 times, to try and seal that one before I said **** it.

What do you mean by "legend stat"? Achievements? Unlocking equipment slots?

There's just that list of legend "achievements" I guess. I don't know if they go toward unlocking equipment slots.

The legendary career goals that match or surpass all the legendary players' records

The first shot, first shift is easy if you "slider glitch" you tone down all the CPU abilities and boost yours to make yourself a god. Play that one game that way get the stat and put the sliders back to normal.

I do know that if I don't get the 50 in 39 this season I'll snag it next season. I started on the 3rd line and would see 3 shifts a period, now that I'm a first liner I see plenty of time if it isnt a penalty fest. Honestly the Super Mario Hat Trick has to be the hardest one

Sometimes I think I should just play a playmaker, I set up the CPU players great all the time but sometimes they do the dumbest shit when I want to be setup. Im gonna be wide open in the slot with a clear passing lane and call for pass, and he's apparently already decided to shoot it from a bad angle. I could easily probably get 2+ assists a game, drive toward the net, circle around to the half boards, the late man is driving to the slot wide open for the one timer. I can replicate this scenario almost at will.

The only BAP co mplaint I have is that when crowding the crease, if I'm checked into the goalie I get called for goalie interference.

I could understand this if it was once or twice--i would have applauded EA for actually programming in refs that reflect the shittiness of NHL refs. But it's every freaking time.

Do you get anything (slots, boosts...) for the legend goals?

Happens to me more after the whistle if im in front of the net, you come within in an inch of the goalie and he starts flopping around like a fish out of water. Thing is alot of times im right in front of the net after the stoppage and i cant avoid it.

I think for some you do, but it just might be a coincidence that they match the slot requirement.

Are you in the CHL, AHL, NHL? That makes a difference between how intelligent your teammates are. Also what line you are on. Me Ryan and Getzlaf are nasty, my time on the 2nd and 3rd lines I had to do it myself but with them I pass a lot more and work with them.

It is really interesting to see how different lines play and teams too. Like the Ducks are a size team and they play that way, especially the 1st line. We really forecheck hard and bang bodies.

My favorite setup is to enter into the zone carrying the puck spin towards the boards and hit the 2nd guy in as he shoots by and usually results in a scoring chance and the defense cannot defend against it well because the spin towards the boards is unpredictable.

Also Tater I believe they MIGHT unlock boost packs.

Started on the 'hawks 3rd line...got moved up to the 2nd. So, right now I'm playing with Brunette and Kane (Before it was Bickell & Meyers). I'm definitly expected to take up more physical slack and be able to freewheel more with Kane rather than just crash the net.
