Has to do with the minutes you actually played. If you would have played all 3 seasons you'd make mega money, but that's just an educated theory.

I dont know if thats the case. In NHL 11, I played 4 full seasons(all 82 + playoffs), and was still made shit on my fa offers at the beginning of the 5th season.

I know in NHL 11, my 1st contract was for a mere 2.5M. After that it was 6M.

Thats what I was wondering. When I played 11 each time I won the cup I went to the next most difficul level. The year before the 6M offer was when I put it to "legend" or whatever the highest difficulty was, Playing for the 'hawks I think we won 4 games all year, and I had a season that would make Tyler Arnason look like Mario Lemeiux. So yeah, I think I had Wiz' agent.

Here's another one that I ran into. NHL 12, playoffs, OT2 and beyond: I play 1 shift, then the rest of the period sims out with aboslutly NOTHING happening and the game looking like it's locking up. I made it to OT10 before I said screw it, and simmed out of the game.

Yeah for OT right now I get no love from the coach. I get maybe 1 shift if I'm lucky or sit it out and never get into the shootout. But you know I lead the league in Goals, Points, Hits, Plus/Minus but yeah not good enough for the PK, PP, extra man, OT, or the shootout

Hey, at least you got to see the ice in O.T.

I have been on the first line of Toronto and just started my second season. Haven't played in O.T. or a shootout yet.

One game went into round 12 of a shootout and I still never got a shot. The 4th line center and a third pairing Dman got turns though.

Reg. season I wouldn't get an OT shift. Fair enough, I am a rookie. Playoff OT the 1st OT period played out like most. After that it's pretty much the opening shift, and then it's like the game locks up or they're trying to render the game on a ColecoVision.

I think I mentioned this before. You have to end a season playing in the AHL or the game thinks you are still in your first season, despite that not appearing to be the case. You just need to do this once.

After I did that(I just simmed my entire second season, and an assload of unlocks, unlocked upon completion), and worked my way back up to the first line in my 3rd season. I was on the 1st PP unit and get first line minutes in OT and since then I shoot second in the SO.

Look at the legend achievements and look at the "most points in a single season" stat and compare that to your NHL career totals(in performance tracker as that only records stats you actually got while playing not simmed), If they are equal you know your 1st season never registered as ending(even if it doesnt I assure you this is the issue), I tried getting my first season end to register like 15 times (reloaded prior to game 7 stanley cup). and no yesterdays patch didnt fix this, I have a save a few games before the end of my first season, and after the patch tested to see if the issue was fixed, it was not.

and I dont think it will be since that means you can actually unlock a boost slot instead of paying for it. The win the stanley cup in your first season, is the only boost unlock that is currently unavailable due to a game bug with no work around. As once you finish a season in the AHL, it seems to eliminate the bug from future seasons.

Once I finished a season in the AHL, all the single season unlocks (that didnt require a trophy) unlocked for me. and the following year, when i cleaned house in the trophy department all the trophy unlocks popped up.

But since you dont get credit for the stanley cup if you finish in the AHL(and the only way your first season will register as finishing is if you are in the AHL), you get no love on that unlock.

Sounds like the game needs a tuner update in that regard.

What if you get called up during the season? Do you have to play 40+ games in the AHL season?

You have to finish the season while in the AHL otherwise it does not register the season as ending (once you do it once, it fixes itself and your seasons will properly end each year). No you dont have to play 40+ games, you can essentially just sim a season and let yourself get booted down to the AHL(you wont get called up if you are just simming). Then next season you can get a spot on the big club in preseason, so you dont have to work your way back up from the AHL.

So basically once you do this, one time, everything will have righted itself and seasons will end normally even when in the NHL.

Well, i might have to do this for the next season after the playoff run. Still, they should fix this. Cheap Canucklehead Bastards. You know something is wrong when a 6-0/225 rookie can SCHOOL Parros in a bout but not Torres (and Torres was in Vancouver when the coded the game)

You know what annoys me A whole lot, on the EA forums when I see people saying "coding is hard, you cant expect....."

Waaa? So you pay for a game and since coding is hard I should just STFU when features flat out dont work, that literally have been bugged for 3 versions?! (Like unlocks) although I will admit this version has the least buggy unlocks since theres only 1 you literally cannot unlock. I write software and when there is a bug I wish I could tell my client "Coding is hard, deal with it". When a bug is found on the production product, we drop wtf we are doing and work that issue till its fixed.

The season end bug is fucking simple, They could release their damn development tools like any other respectable computer development studio and i'll fix the damn thing for them. Its simple the first season only ends when you are in the AHL. YOU KNOW THE FUCKING ROOT CAUSE, Now debug your fucking shit and fix it. (Frankly, it amazes me that something as obvious as this passed testing.)

Im half tempted to consider the 5 wins in the NHL as a goalie boost unlocked bugged because that shits fucking impossible. (The wins arent impossible, its making the team out of preseason to get those wins thats impossible)

Ive seriously tried to get good stats in one of those preseason games like 15 times. Ive even tried heavily fucking with the sliders to favor my side, set it to rookie. (all that does is result in far less SOG against, it doesnt reduce their quality cross crease one timer chances, it ultimately ends up making me look worse when they score 3 goals on 8 shots)

Its nothing else but its impossible to stop cross crease one timers. Cheat toward the potential pass receiver the puck carrier owns you short side, dont cheat they score on the one timer.

The only thing I can do is play till they dont get more than one of those opportunities in a game. Literally I can stop everything they throw at me but that.

I don't really think it is easy to make the squad fresh out of the CHL as a goalie, which is pretty authentic. It is extremely rare for a goalie prospect to make the team the first year, their NHL careers are more of a journey

Well, TSD, if that's what the tuner updates are, they should get on them. I got a buddy that works for Ninttendo and yeah, coging is hard but that's their freaking JOB.

Mabe someone needs to tell them "Yeah, coding's hard, but you fucked up. Now fix it in the next tuner set and push it out.

Thats the thing, it has nothing to do with my skill level. Its simply impossible to prevent a goal in those situations unless the shooters aim is off. I can see it coming like 20 seconds before hand but its like well shit, im damned if I do im damned if i dont.. Unless you will be capable of saving them if your stats were increased.

Well, there was a game update last night and a tuner update. Who knows if this fixed things or not.

Actually I feel they did this right. Human goalies in prior years were too good. They had the potential to stop everything. In reality a cross crease is very hard for a goalie to stop in real life, mostly it is the job of the defense to stop those. So the game emulates this.

If you don't believe me watch Huet against the Canes a couples years back. They did a X-crease that was right out of the video game and he never even had the time to move over.

I mean I believe you, its just ridiculous how often they get those opportunities when you play goal and its frustrating. I think its more frustrating because I have no desire to play a goalie I simply want to make the nhl out of preseason win 5 games then hang it up just to unlock a boost slot. Seriously I think this is the most difficult boost slot unlock to "grind out".
