Bingo. I threw down against Wizniewski, Kubina, and Bieksa and schooled all three. But for some reason it took the rectal ranger Torres only two punches to knock me down.

and FYI, don't get too excited about unlocking boost slots I just finished my first NHL season I actually played 40 full games and sim played 3rd period in the rest.

I qualified for a shitload of unlocks, not a single one of them unlocked upon completion of my season. The EA forums on BOTH systems are rampant with threads about this. This has been an issue since 09. It amazes me EA still cant get their unlock system working (I swear it must be on purpose to get people to breakdown and buy them.).

I got a bunch of unlocks over the course of the season but all the unlock slots that require completing a season playing 40 games, and the complete a season get X award no dice.

Allegedly, what the issue is, the game doesn't register that the season has ended. Thats why those unlocks dont work. I found this thread:

http://www.ps3trophi...r-glitched.html

After playing 3 seasons in the NHL and having 30+ PP goals for 2 of these seasons and not getting the trophy i rightfully earned, i noticed that my career points and single seasons points were the exact same number and my game point streak in a single season was 118. (this is impossible) (My Pro > Career Performance > Legends Milestones)

apparently if you finish your season in the AHL, that causes it to recognize the season ended. Fuckin shit. So people are saying play in the first 40, then sim so you get dumped in the AHL to get those unlocks. I really wish i made a mid season save.

i am going to attempt to sim through my entire second season and see if it recognizes my awards from the first season as being part of the current completed season.

and a thread on the EA forums. http://forum.ea.com/...st/7560289.page

I am not holding my breath for a fix. As many posters have mentioned many boosts have been bugged since 09 and EA never fixed them.

Another poster mentioned "Its funny how unlocks that you can alternatively unlock with money, don't unlock the normal way".

With how many versions these have been bugged and not fixed, I am starting to think it can't possibly be coincidence that the unlocks don't work.

EDIT: Confirmed, all single season boosts that DONT require a trophy WILL unlock if you just sim strait through your second season(It will complete your first season). (I sat at my pc perusing the internet pressing O on my controller every time an announcement came up.) (make a save in your first season, then sim the next season just to get the unlocks and you can reload your first save with the unlocks).

debating whether to 3rd period intervene sim rest of game(it counts as a game played even if you intervene the 3rd and sim the rest of the game), 40 games in the 3rd season of this save to get the play 2 seasons of at least 40 gms played per.

Unfortunately as far as the boosts are concerned that require getting X trophy. They are perma bugged because even if your NHL stats for a season win you every trophy for your position, you dont get them if you finish in the AHL.

I also tried to get the win 5 games with a goalie unlock slot. That must by far be the hardest one to get. I fucking SUCK with the goalie. I played all the preseason (even after the coach said my chance of making the team was non-existant) my best game was 3 goals against on 15 shots and everything i did save were fucking beachballs, I should rename my BAP goalie to huet.

How the F do you stop one timers!

I see the damn cross ice pass every time, but theres nothing I can do about it. I am ready with the sticks every time and it blows right by me. I tried cheating a little bit predicting the pass and its 100% guaranteed the jackass will go short side the moment i cheat a little. Seems at the beginning of every game my D fudges, and gives them a perfect setup for the one timer, once or twice.

There is no way im attempting that 5 goalie wins, having to work my way up tot he NHL, id never make the team.

On another Note, I got the 2 way dman all A's in one game unlock. I didnt realize how easy being a D-man was, how easy it is to get points on top of it. Cranking one timers from the point all game long you are bound to pot a few a game.

Ah goaltending, it's hard but you have to gamble and cheat a bit, also your size changes how you play goalie a lot. I play 6'4" 225lbs. So I'm big in net with a big ass five hole and a bit slower. A smaller goalie is going to be the exact opposite.

For the dreaded X-crease you have to gamble and cheat nearside post. You just have to be ready to go either way depending where the shot is. Also if you pull the B-fly trigger and move at the same time you'll get over faster. Not a guaranteed save but increases your chances

I was just thoroughly pissed about the season based unlock bug. I'd lay money down it doesn't get fixed. All they have to do is make the end of the damn season register when your player is in the NHL, it cant be that hard.

Anyone know why EA stopped putting the "real" goalie masks in the game?

I am assuming its relating to licensing stuff with the artists.

Also create a mask feature would be cool. Some older versions of NHL had some awesome features for create a player they seem to have just done away with. in nhl 2002 (for the PC at least), they had a very simple interface for putting your face in the game. Which was gone next version. (Although I did it on my own through modding) that and goalie masks, there were kindly people that literally modded every single goalie mask true to life into the game in the PC version, as well as all the team arenas with realistic center ice and board ads.

I would seriously kill for this game to come back to PC for modding alone. That and I could actually run the game without those horrid textures during gameplay because the systems cant handle the crowd and players at maximum poly's/resolution.

Lastly, how about an Import a player from the previous version? At least in BAP offline, and get like bonus skill points.

It is licensing issues. The artists aren't affiliated with each other in any shape or form so they can't just go get one agreement from an association or guild or something like that, but they'd have to get licenses from each individual artist.

I dont think you'll ever see sports gaming come back to the PC. The sales aren't there, hell the PC gaming market is dwindling daily. With the capabilities of consoles increasing every generation they get closer and closer to the power of a PC for a lot less money. There is probably going to always be a niche for PC gaming but it isn't going to be the market it is today.

It is simple math, PS3 250.00 good gaming PC 1000.00-2000.00

Well, I noticed a pretty major glitch in my BAP season. the 'hawks PP was something like 25 for 13 on the season with 138% conversion rate. Apparently how they count, and address PP numbers needs to be fixed.

Second, just something that irked the hell out of me, I just completed the regular season leading the league in +/-. Before the last game i went in with +99...

...

...

...

...

i ended up with a -2 for the last game against Detroit...so freaking close!!!

Now. It was $600 bucks for like the first year. Then with how consoles have been with this generation factor in the cost of the inevitable repairs or replacement system (which I had to do, although a reseller bought my old PS3 for 100 bucks(disc player was dead), I got a 50 dollars gift card from best buy for buying a PS3, so my new ps3 only cost me 100.

and frankly its an unfair comparison. Most pure console gamers still have a PC. To compare the cost of a gaming PC to a PS3 or Xbox is unfair in that respect. It would be more fair to compare the cost of the required gaming calibur hardware to the cost of a PS3 or Xbox. i.e. if a home PC would cost you $600 and a gaming PC cost you $1000 compare that net difference to your next gen console cost, not the entire price of the PC.

As I think most people dont sit here and rock the same PC for 10 years even if they arent an enthusiast.

The next round of consoles are going to cost more, guarantee it. The next ones will essentially be PC's you hook up to your TV with a hardware standard.

If the next gen of consoles has real mouse and keyboard support and games that support it, I'll be sold on sticking to console gaming, right now the only games I buy for console are ones I cant get on PC.

but I agree PC gaming is not the huge market it was in the mid to late 90's. PC gaming will never die, people have been saying its dying for a decade now, its like the longest death ever. No matter what, UNLESS the PC can no longer offer something consoles cant, there will always be a market for PC games.

Problem is a home PC..hell I've seen them for 300 bucks. If you want a gaming rig, you are spending upwards of a grand.

I mean the graphics card alone is going to run 300-500 for a good one.

It's not an apples to apples comparison, though. For one, consoles aren't competing with high-end gaming rigs (which will undoubtedly blow the living shit out of the capabilites of any console), it's usually mid-tier systems in performance (i.e. my $800 custom HTPC rig can play Wolfenstein better than the 360 can using only mid-tier equipment). Secondly, to put a current-gen computer into the realm of power of a next-generation console, you don't need a brand new PC--sometimes it's as simple as a new video card costing around the same as the console itself--if not less. Then couple the lower cost of incremental upgrades vs. the cost of a new system.

To me, though, consoles are a pre-packaged "safe" deal while PC's are for tinkerers. It will all come down to preference for most people.

I would not be surprised if future gaming systems will allow for easily swapped out components such as graphics cards so they can keep up with the PC market. I'm sure it will still be proprietary, but it would certainly be awesome if we could swap out the GPU on the PS3 or 360. I'm sure to an extant this could be subsidized like they do for systems, ie where the sell it at cost or at a slight loss. It would certainly extend the lifecycle of their products.

Sure if you want to run your games with the resolution and AA set to ridiculous. the video hardware in an xbox and 360 wasnt even top of the line when the systems came out (I believe the PS3 chip is based on a Nvidia 7800GTX with only 256mb of video memory) basically if you want to run your PC games at the same quality level as a console, you hardly have to spend that much. Its just that most PC gamers want better which is why they are gaming on the PC to begin with.

My old 8800GT from 2007 collecting dust in my closet, would still be perfectly fine for any cross platform games that come out.

Although I cant wait to see the comparrison screens between console and PC with all the bells and whistles on with Skyrim.

We have gone way OT.

Actually, the game making companies might take a stance against this. The reason? To access a decent PC market share, you have to code for a lions' share of hardware and OS capabilities--all of which could be in any combination. For consoles: 2, maybe 3 distinct hardware sets--easy to code for.

That and I think hardcore console people would be up in arms over that. Because then you would run into things like the latest games for your console, not running on your console because you havent purchased the latest graphics capabilites.

Back to NHL talk.

Why is it in be a pro they pay you like a utility player when you dominate the NHL?

Im on my 6th season (no I didnt play all seasons not even 40 games except for the first 2 but only simmed the 3rd period to get unlocks) I figured out you can play every 6th game and avoid getting the your lazy messages from the coach. so I play the first 10 games, then every 6th and Ive still been leading the league in points and goals (it really helps when you get your rating higher, you get much better stats when simming).

So before I got my contract offer from the hawks, the agent is like everyone loves you, you are in high demand, I've won the rocket richard, and art ross 3 out of the last 5 seasons and am rated 87 overall, whats the highest contract offer from the 4 teams involved? 1.9 million per. WTF!

I did 3 seasons in phoenix after draft, 1 in edmonton, 1 in Boston, this year I finally got a contract offer from the hawks (whom I elminated in the stanley cup finals the previous year when I was on Boston, although my player was injured throughout the entire SCF and I didnt get to play any games).

I know the salary doesnt really fucking matter its not like im really getting paid, but come on, Id like to know what the salary is based on, I used to think it was your rating, but that cant be true, as an 87 player in be a gm commands much more than 1.9 per. It "should" be based on your stats.

I also wish there was an option to set a "preferred team" for your agent to increase the odds of getting a contract from that club when you are a FA. I know you can just reload and get a different array of suitors but its random, you could get a team every time or never.

Or the Game compaies would be up in arms for having to QA/QC check their games against 2 or more hardware configuarions per system, or have to ode to autodetect the system hardware to automitially select for the hardware settings the console has. Either way, it means games may become more expensive to the consumer.

Right now I've played all of my games in the 1st regular season, so I can't be sure yet. I'll try and hit back once I'm up for a contract renegotiation to see if playing ever game has an outcome on it.

Has to do with the minutes you actually played. If you would have played all 3 seasons you'd make mega money, but that's just an educated theory.
