Even if the picks don't pan out, still gets the cap space. Can't pay a 3/4c over $3mil with the cap dropping. Especially when Shaw/Kruger can do the job at a discounted price.

I think he was going to stay regardless. Bolland going is more of a deal of not needing him anymore. Let's face it, he was relegated to the fourth line anyway. The fact that they were able to get three picks for him is just a bonus. The extra money can either go to someone now, or at the deadline. Or, they can use some of it next season to re-sign Hammer, which I think is something that they really need to do.

Frolik has been traded to Winnipeg for a couple of picks. Not sure I like this move nearly as much as the Bolland trade.

BOO!!!! I loved Fro and Kruger together on the PK. Looks like Stan might have some ideas of going after a free agent or two that he was acting like he wasn't going to. Hawks now have 13.5 million to spend.

Hawks got 74th (3rd) and 134th (5th) for Fro. As much as I do not like the move, I must trust in Stan. How can you not?

I am thinking that with all these moves, some of the UFA's will be returning as well. Roszival and Zus might be coming back now I would think. Zus would be fine with me as a fourth line center/depth guy. Rosi was fine as as third pairing Dman, and stated that he had wanted to come play for the Hawks last season. Perhaps Stan might also be working on an extension of Hammer before next season. I would definitely approve of this.
