Nick Chubb about to sign?

I think most people believe he should be healthy and productive, not necessarily perform like one of the best backs in the league. Personally, in a split role with Swift/RJ/Monangai I could see him rushing for 800-1000 yards at 4.5 YPC. Both would be below his career averages, but still good production, especially on a cheap contract.

I'm inclined to believe that Chubb prefers not to agree to a 1 year prove it, and is waiting to see if a team will offer him a 2 year gig

My guess is a 2 year deal with an easy out after year 1 if he doesn’t perform. Incentive laden deal with lower guarantees.

Williams is only averaging around 3.2ypc the last 2 years while other running backs in NO did much better. His success rate was also not impressive as well. Hard pass

too many on here trying to talk themselves into believing Chubb can regain his 2022 form coming off injury and in his age 30 season, these things rarely happen in the real world, false optimism at best

I mean, it's possible he can regain his form but I wouldn't invest a bunch of resources into hoping that he will. I think it's smarter to give the rookie a chance before using his draft position as a reason that he can't be as good or better than a 30yo coming off two major lower body injuries.

Because the only time he was “good” was behind the eagles all pro line, then they dumped him for Barkley and won a Super Bowl.

Barkley is literally twice as good as Swift behind that line.

Well Chubb was injured in 2023 and came back way too early in 2024 where he was not effective.

Not comparing the two, clearly saquan is a much better RB but advanced metrics say they werent too far off in some categories other than the YAC yardage which is where the clear difference comes.

Swift is more than good enough with a good OL. Success % was similar.

Cant fix every hole in one offseason and next years RB FA class looks very strong.

He will be waiting for a long time then. Coming off that injury no one is going to offer a two-year deal. Behind this re-built OL the Bears only have to find an above average RB like Jamaal Williams was for the Lions in 2022 when he paired with Swift.

Don't disagree with that at all, but Swift does need to be paired with a power back to get the most out of him.

Why the rookie should get a lot of run. Chubb should ideally be given a look but who knows if he is interested in coming here. Even a washed chubb is better than roschon.

Saquons epa per rush was 10x better. That's pretty wild

And if you cant figure out why a slot receiver is more important than a RB in todays nfl you are beyond help

Actually nobody has said that, everyone has been talking about how if we could get 75% or 85% of what Chubb was then that would be fine to go with Swift.
