Nick Foles is they worst move of the Pace era. A total and unmitigated disaster on all levels.

Outside of MItch of course
Foles, Trevathan, and Quinn are his worst signings. We’ll see what Quinn does this year but not overly optimistic. Cohen was a pretty dumb signing too

Edit: wasn’t even a signing he gave up a 4th round pick for him lol

Glendon’s deal is so overblown. It was a one year. Bears were going nowhere that year anyway it was a total rebuild. Pace still took a swing for a franchise QB that year he just missed.

I'm still a believer in Nick Foles, and I think it would be a mistake to get rid of him. Say what you want about him as QB1, but if I need my backup to come in and play down the stretch in a big game, there's no other guy I'd rather have than Nick Foles.

Literally no other guy than Nick Foles to be the guy whomst Literally is being paid millions of dollars to hold onto Andy Dalton's clip-board? I mean you are not being serious and this is literally a trolling that you are attempting to accomplish here? Seriously? Don't troll about third stringer quarterbacks!

The contract was worse that Jax gave him before we got him and we made it better when we had it restructured with the trade. I see what the thinking was when they traded for Foles and think it was worth the shot but of course it sucks now that it didn't work out for us.
Yes. We are going to have ended up coughing up a 4th round pick and 21 million dollars for 6 bad starts.

A trade would at least pull it out of dumpster fire territory.

I don't remember any rumors that Pace's job was on the line in 2020. I think you're doing your windy overreacting thing again with this one.

Things were pretty tense after 2019. They then made a bunch of desperation moves and backloaded some crazy contracts in a hope of being better in 2020.

You are arguing the semantics of these less important part of the sentence, which is par for the course.

He is redundant and over paid.

If it were up to me, Andy Dalton wouldn't even be here. Nick Foles should be backing up Justin Fields, in my opinion.

Of course this is true but they have to have someone to blame . Foles joined an offense that was ranked 29th the year before with no camp or preseason but the Bears had all the making of a SB contender thats why they decided to run it back with the same squad and just added a qb .

I remember a lot of people on this board loved the move when it was made. It was a bad signing in hindsight but not the worst considering Mitch was the QB1.

Moving up and drafting Fields more than makes up for the Foles deal.

Financially that would make more sense.

But they couldn’t go into the draft with Foles as a starter. He was awful last year and they couldn’t stake their jobs on 17 games of Foles.

Who fucking cares if it was only a year! I hadn't seen QBing that bad since Johnathan Quinn!

LOL! Wrong! As bad as Foles was Glennon was way fucking worse!

Glennon was one and done though. Foles is useless and they’re still paying for it.

Either way I really don’t care….. JF is here now and that’s all that matters.

Glennon

4 games 18 million

Foles

6 games, 21 million, 4th round pick, torpedoed a trade to save the Bears huge cap space.

Foles cost a little less per terrible start, but also cost you a 4th round pick, then he F-Ed you not taking the trade

Someone, somewhere in the league, will get injured before the deadline. Sad but the way it goes.
