And not to mention, Makarov and Skille seem locked in to spots right now, at least to start. Obviously if they both suck in training camp then things change, but I'm basing that opinion off their contracts. Why would Makarov come here at that cheap a price unless he was practically promised a shot by the Hawks? And same with Skille. Both seem to be literally paying a few hundred thousand dollars for a chance to play NHL hockey.

IF those two get spots, where does Beach fit in? I don't think the Hawks see him as a 4th liner. If Brouwer continues to develop like we've seen the last 2 years, and Beach doesn't mature, I'd start to seriously consider dealing him. But way too early to think about that anyways.

It would do good for Beach to stay in the AHL for the year and mature a bit. I am sure the veterans there wont take his shit there without putting him in his place and he'll get a taste on what it takes to be a pro. I have a feeling he has so far relied on his size and talent rather than his brain, hopefully the minors will teach him to round out his game and understand he does NOT need to answer every invitation to fight.

If Beech got a good talking too after prospect camp, is my memory correct in that Skille was signed soon after? Could Beach have done himself in and given the spot to Skille?

Definitely possible. I truly think he was always a longshot to make it anyways because of the cap hit.

I remember a day or two into camp before Beach started with his antics, Tim Sassone tweeted: "It's funny reading all of these stories about Beach seeing an opportunity to make the team....not this year with a cap hit over a million."

LOL No... BEACH is about the cap hit. Good God get over a simple incident people. If Beach got a good talking too, I hope Olimb did too. Something like "don't go instigating fights and being a cheap shot artist on kids 2x your size and getting freakishly injured when they come after you". We don't need an immature head case or a small player with a Napoleon complex.

Sorry, Stu, but it's not JUST about the cap hit. It's also about his play, his attitude, etc. It's time you came to that realization. The guy is on a VERY short leash.

When it comes to your obsessions, you have a real knack for ignoring the obvious when it's right in front of you and you don't want to see it.

Wouldn't be much of an obsession if he didn't do those things.

Many of us have seen him play live far more than you. Again they are saying when you get on a tangent you go. Thus the picture in your avatar now.

Usually when the many agree and there are one or two that don't for the most part the majority is right. Canuckle head watched this kid growing up and yet you threw him to the curb because he was a Canuck fan. Connors Mom has seen EVERY GAME he's played as an Ice HOg and EVER Skate he's ever had at prospect camp, and you discount her as she has no clue what she's talking about.

If you can understand why people take you the way they do I can't help you.

Just odd that he didn't have any incidents ALL last year as I read every recap and looked at every box score as well as followed the Chiefs as closely as possible and he didn't have any "incidents". But I doubt anyone else did that so I don't know what I'm talking about... it's all good, you'll all be proven wrong this year and I'll laugh.

So everyone can focus on what he did when he was 18 and refuse to acknowledge the fact he's maturing incredibly quickly on the ice as a player and as a person.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Ehhh...saw him quite a few times with Everett and during last year's Winterhawks/Cheifs playoff series...

Talent-wise...yes, he could be something awesome, but I agree a year in the A would do him a lot of good.

Incorrect. He had a huge incident that had him kicked off the ICE HOGS TEAM last year DURING THE PLAYOFFS. Then he went the JR season with no problem, until he comes into prospect camp. Where he is reported Lazy, arrogant, and can't play the game must fight.

Excuse us for throwing out the facts there. Everyone agrees he has the talent while EVERYONE with half a fucking brain questions the integrity. For valid fucking reasons.

This is what really pisses me off about professional sports, not just the NHL. I get that their has to be prep, and timely meetings and blah blah blah, but EVERYTHING takes so incredibly long to come to fruition in professional sports. I just don't get it. All the technology, all the priorities, everything.... just sit down and get it fucking done or at least hash it out to a yes or a no and let them have some time to think about it. Drives me nuts, contracts, hearings, negotiations, decisions, injury reports.... ****...

The time is afforded so that the parties can negotiate a contract that both can live with. It wouldn't surprise me to see a contract in place prior to the arbitration hearing.
