Actually RK the interns are full-time along with TH.

Please know what your talking about before you insult what I am saying.

And for the Ice Crew, i do agree from the sound of it they are treated like absolute crap, which is horrible.[/quote]

Then that's changed within the last year. As for insulting you or what your saying...

I'll try to remember in the future.

They should have been in the parade - I'm still wondering why it was decided not to have them in there. But I can fully understand not giving them their day with the cup. You have to draw the line somewhere - it goes to the team and front office big shots to get their special day. There's a lot of costs involved with the logistics and just not enough time to let everyone take it out for a day or two.

What's this with 'forced retirement'? Were some of the girls told they couldn't come back due to their age? I read Colleen is gone in this thread - she was very nice to me and my kids and always stopped to chat and take a photo. We lost Kelly last year and she was my favorite. In fact last year we had a lot of ice crew turnover - I think it was like 9 or 10 girls that didn't come back. Will be interesting to see who's still around now.

There are some inner workings I am privy to, but chose not to reveal all. It has been related that Colleen and some other were told not to even come to the try out, as no one wants them on the crew this year. No one high up in the organization wants them anymore, and would not recommend them.

Ever notice there was no pics this year? Someone high up put the kibosh on those, after the girls took time off work, used their own materials (make up, clothing, et al), and didn't get paid. That's pretty shitty.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
For the most pat I agree they should get a ring for it, and if not an indivdual day with the cup, then a group day with the cup

Totally sucks to hear that they're treated like crap.

Everyone
who did their part for the team gets one or at least should, no matter what. Heck, even I got one in 2007. It wasn't the prettiest looking thing, but it works and the recognition means more than anything.

If the Grinch has a heart, the Crew will each get one as a parting gift.

As i have been told by the crew, that things are going to change. All but a few of the rookies and one vet from last year will be on the crew this year.

Yes, they should not only have been in the parade, but they should also at least gotten a chance to celebrate this win like anyone else in the organ"I"zation. This crew were paid to work and been on call for community activities to show support for the team.

The last few years the crew have had a booth at the Convention. This year, the team sold their booth and didn't have much for them to do. The cup was there and they were not allowed to see it.

In the past, the crew were given game tickets for the nights they worked. Of course, that is no longer a perk.

These girls are talented and do more for the public relations by spending time with the fans in the concourse and stands. Taking pics with the young kids and handing out their autographs is just part of what they do.

Now, the Hawks Brass...want nothing to do with them.

This stuff started during the finals when the Organ"I"zation didn't want any of the vets working the finals.

Why was that? Do you think there was a fight with the crew organizer lady (Winnie?) that runs it?

I'm also wondering if the organization may be distancing themselves from this as they may think the crew no longer represents the image of the organization. Eye candy is great for the fans and especially when a team is losing. But when you win the cup upper brass might feel the crew is too risque for their product. I am curious to know if the uniforms become more conservative this year.

No, rather John Mcdonough has never wanted anything to do with them. So I've been told on several occasions. Without being insulting of course. Because, after all, he is the benevolent leader. Anointed, appointed, which ever way you look at it.

Wonder if Rocky took Huets pay in Europe out of Johns salary. After all it was his signing.

GOD DAMN IT WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPEN HERE! I'm disappointed RK, you made me run to the microwave for a fresh bag of popcorn in anticipation of the vile carnage due to be spewed in retort.

You feeling ok? I know it's off-season, maybe you just aren't back into playing shape yet?

My sources said that the crusty old zamboni guy didn't like the vets, and made it clear he didn't want them working the ice in the finals. McD doesn't like 'em sure, but he's a ****** and we all know it.

I'll ask him. I did not hear that, then again I didn't paint the ice this year due to being in Montana.

He's actually a pretty nice guy. Have known them both for quite awhile. Now what it is to work with any of them, I couldn't tell you. I will say that's their ice though. As far as the Ice Crew Shoveling that decision was a league decision from my understanding.
