I do think Mitch could have a good game tonight, but even if he does it really does not change anything.

This is where I am. Good games punctuating the average along with bad games is my take on him. I am sad to say it too.

it's a primetime game. I don't expect Trubs to do well. I don't trust Nagy(tries to get too cute) and Trubs on primetime. Was there a primetime game last year that the Bears offense won? I seem to recall only the defenses showing up on primetime

1st quarter of GB Week 1, Mitch was hot fire. It's the best I have.

Point of the OP is this is where the "haters" have their peak (and hopefully it is only the peak) and where the "homers" are at their quietest. I am honestly wondering how many there are and if they truly have faith that Mitch has elite game and will bring it out and step up and become THE guy in CHI.

Thought that was obvious though.
So another us against them thread. Got it.

My lord the QB cunting on this board gets exhausting. A few guys hate the QB pick from the start and try to show how smart they are by bashing said QB (whether it’s Cutler or Trubs). The rest of us are hopeful that our beloved Bears have FINALLY found a good to great QB. Some hold out hope longer than others, trying to be positive as if wanting it to happen and having positive thoughts will make it so, all the while the smart guys feel the need to let everyone know how smart they really are and how stupid and lame the others are for still believing. In the end the story is the same. The ******* up North get back to back HOFers, the beloved can’t pick a QB to save their lives, and the “smart guys” are still smarmy dicks.

I still have hope, belief? proof? stats? Nope, all I have is hope and blind loyalty to a team I love but never fails to disappoint me.

I think it kind of defeats the purpose of bold if you use it for every word. If you meant to be shouting, capital letters are considered the convention for that.

I never called anyone a name unless they called me one first. Might I suggest you take this less personally?
Now what are you saying exactly? Are you saying you are claiming he finishes top 10? We all have hope. Does your belief translate into a claim here and now so as to offset hindsight claims later?

Thank you in advance for your response

PS Astonished this team has never disappointed you. But cheers

I have no idea how I bolded the entire thing, must’ve hit something I wasn’t intending to.
Also I wasn’t calling you out necessarily as one of the smart guys, just the general tone of this board for weeks (years?). And I take nothing on the internet personally, seeing as none of you know me personally.
Do I think he’ll be top 10? Nope, man I hope so, but I haven’t seen anything consistently enough to believe it. And watching every other QB, even ones I never heard of looking comfortable and smooth, makes it even harder to believe.
And I said the Bears never FAIL to disappoint, not that they’ve never disappointed me.

What are the Mitch homers saying?

Nagy sounds like the biggest one of all, telling us that it took Drew Brees 3 years and a new team. What is the issue? People want to be right as soon as possible? The truth is somewhere in the middle. QB15-25. Right now, today. You can't make that look pretty every week, but worse, this coach is hurting him by believing in fantasy world and playcalling like he would actually get any respect.

"You just have to believe next week is the week." Where did you get that one Trubisky....your girlfriend? Where did she get that? Youtube? Where did youtube get it? Aliens? But the checks go to Russia.

It doesn’t matter what Mitch does or what anyone what said, or even what the topic of any particular thread is. You and Bearmick will turn it into a bash Trubisky thread.

Even if he plays poorly and deserves criticism, every topic doesn’t need to turn into “badh Trubisky”.

But that’s what you do.

And unless everyone agrees with you, you do want to turn it into us vs them.

Mitch is that you? Hope you have a good game tonight. Don't let the haters get your down.

I consistently pray that I am wrong about Mitch.

Even late stages Alex Smith would be a win and allow this defense to compete for Super Bowls.

An aggressive late stage Alex Smith would be a huge win. Alex was baffling. Dude is extremely intelligent but never showed it on the field until he was given the KC roadmap and even that took him a while. Finally started throwing it downfield towards the end of his career.

Then you have idiots like Marino that could throw to spots blind. It's an amazingly difficult position to draft.

I don't wanna turn the board into "us vs them" because we are all Bears fans and division ruined the Y! Board 10 years ago.

But if anyone gives me shit, they shall be reminded of their 4,200 yard 30 TD season WHICH I SAID EMPHATICALLY IS NOT HAPPENING...LOL.
Thaere can't be too many that honestly think that. You come across as if a CCS poster isn't all in on the MT hate they're of the 4200/30 #calledit mindset... might have been 1 or 2 peeps saying that but I don't remember seeing very many posts making that prediction.

After seeing the DSM show for 2 games 25/3000 might be what we get.

I actually have no idea what they are saying. I am now wondering if we all are ACTUALLY In agreement across the board!
I think most are and many have confused patience with homerism. Of course, there's still plenty of homers but I suspect most of those rooting for Mitch to succeed are more reasonable.

Biggest emphasis in the offseason was the run game so...

It the expectations that are killing us. We were tasting super bowl pre-season. Some fans conveniently forgot this is a team that lost to the Dolphins and Giants last year. Now we face adversity and somebody has to be the target, and its Mitch.

Us and 30 other teams that don't have Brady don't get a free postseason backstage pass every year. You have to earn it and you have to have some luck.

NFC North is beastly this season. I think its arguably the toughest division in the NFL this season.

There will be ups and downs. It would be nice to not have a fire Nagy, fire Pace, cut Trubs thread after every fucking downswing....

Odds are Mitch, Nagy and the O-line aren't as bad as they were the first 2 weeks.

Uhh, we have a full season of proof to that statement.

We also just have a toxic ass group of posters on this forum. Doesn't help that big city media is pretty much cancer.

Like you said, everyone expected superbowl or bust, and expected mitch to be a superbowl elite QB. He isn't, that doesn't mean he can't still be a good QB.

It could be a lot worse, we could have Jimmy G as our starting QB. I'm sure half the re-re's on this board would take trash ass hometown jimmy over trubisky(because they have brain damage).
