I certainly hope Mitch makes everyone on this board eat their words. I wouldn't put money on it but since I'm a Bears fan, I'm used to shitty QB play.

Suck it up snowflakes and let's see 2-1 after tonight.

Uhh, we have a full season of proof to that statement.

We also just have a toxic ass group of posters on this forum. Doesn't help that big city media is pretty much cancer.

Like you said, everyone expected superbowl or bust, and expected mitch to be a superbowl elite QB. He isn't, that doesn't mean he can't still be a good QB.

It could be a lot worse, we could have Jimmy G as our starting QB. I'm sure half the re-re's on this board would take trash ass hometown jimmy over trubisky(because they have brain damage).

I did not expect elite. Most elite players announce themselves pretty early. I was expecting him to be closer to Deshaun Watson or maybe Matt Ryan.

I will say Baker and Goff looking bad has lessened the sting a little.

Meh he probably will.

We've seen mitch play good. It won't change anything. He could throw for 400 yards and 6 tuddies and no one will eat their words, just say that he will play like ass versus the vikes next week, which he prob would.

I'll take one week at a time. If he nukes the Redskins into oblivion he will be my man for the week.

So you expected mitch to be a fringe HoF QB? Not saying Matty makes it but he's going to finish top 10 in nearly every important statistical category and he was league MVP before.

Still tho, you are more level headed than 99.9% of the posters on here. Plenty of people are talking about midseason trades and talking about how mitch is the worst starting QB in the league. That simply isn't true.

I'll always support my team and my QB. Right now mitch is bad, but we've seen positive signs in the past. Hopefully that positive continues tonight. We don't need Matt Ryan or DeShaun Watson from him to win a superbowl, we just need the fucking guy to be able to score a damn touchdown, lol.

I have a feeling he will. It still won't change the narrative because we've seen him do that before to a bad defense, then we've seen him shit the bed against a good one.

However, beating up on a shit redskins D would do wonders for his confidence. Lets not underestimate how important confidence is. It's key for everything in life, right now, Mitch lacks it.

I’d like to see a larger sample size from GBs passing defense before I call them legit but looking at the nfl through 3 weeks, the Bears have a pretty favorable schedule as far as passing defenses go. You can be a surgeon vs the NFCE. There’s no reason why Mitch can’t at the very least be mediocre moving forward. I hope I can eat crow and say “Yeah, we got ourselves our game manager”

I agree completely. I don't think he has the personality to take negativity. Guys like Brady feed on it. Guys like Mitch let it feed on them.

Why do people think he's worse than this? He managed the last two games. Yea, the offense sucked, but that wen't all around, not just mitch. Nagy's gameplans have been pretty fucking tame compared to last year. Mitch threw the ball deep more than most other QB's in the league last year, this year he has barely done it. That isn't just on mitch.

At worst, he is capable of being a game manager. He's ALREADY shown that. Issue is for the #2 pick that shouldn't be good enough.

Struggling to get 100 yards passing and not scoring a TD in two weeks is below what you expect from a game manager. 3 points at home is inexcusable for any kind of QB.

The gameplan week 2 was one you won't see again for this team, probably ever.

If thats what you take away from that game, idk what to tell you. We were trying to be ball dominant to not let our D get gassed like they did in the miami game. And they still did, and we almost lost.

If we got into a shootout in that game we would have lost, badly.

Yes, week 1 was horrible, but its more of an anomaly. The whole entire roster on offense was horrid. Matt Nagy was even worse than that.

There is a lot of blame to go around the last two weeks, not just for mitch. We've already seen last year that he can manage a game the last few weeks of the season. Some choose to forget it because its easier to have recency bias.

Yeah but he "managed" the playoff game to a loss.

Even in the last 5 games he started in the regular season he threw 5 TDs to 5 INTs. And now add in his last two statistical nightmares under center.

You have a lot of people crashing from the hopes that he could be elite (me included) to even fearing if he CAN be a decent game manager at all! I think some are not forgetting he can manage a game due to recency bias rather you are seeing his managing games in the last part of the regular season with rose-tinted glasses

I am of the opinion Mitch will have a couple good games throughout the year this year. No one could say "I told you so" if he does well tonight ...

BUT for the year as a whole, I expect the same old same old: inconsistency and a year where- no matter if we make the playoffs or not - it will become firmly apparent we are weakest at QB. And we will be looking seriously at whether or not to even extend Mitch or who else might be available. My fears will turn real imo.

BUT what if I'm wrong? What if Mitch starts his Brees-like career tonight? I'd never be happier to be wrong and eat crow for the rest of my days with a smile and an Oliver-like twist at asking for more crow.

But see, it wouldn't surprise me if I am right while simultaneously he does well tonight vs. the Skins.

So, I suggest no one gets to say "I told you so"unless they are willing to man up, balls-to-the-wall post in this thread here and now before the WASH game that Mitch is poised to make his Brees-like ascendance to immortality. I see many here who seem to believe it, but I wonder how many will post and claim it outright before any good tape on him this year even exists yet.

If you post it today and he flips a fricking switch and keeps it on to the level of top 10 QB play for 2018 (even willing to say top 10 from Week 3 onward and spot you the first two games as anomalies!)

, you would gain SERIOUS CCS cred in my book - and many others I am sure. It would be a byline worthy to be added to a CCS HOF resume in my eyes (and yes I am a voter lol).

Downside is the crow thing. If it doesn't happen it would not be me facing crow, it would be you.

Pray to your gods for wisdom and guidance.

Make yourself 3 sacrifices of your enemies: a stuffed lion, a History Channel Vikings Season 4 DVD, and the hair net of a meat packer for strength of conviction. And call it officially here and now before the Monday night Redskins game. May your gods be more powerful than my atheism.

Amen.
This is exactly what makes you a cheesedick.

You can tie mitch to the whipping post and still enjoy a sb title just as much as his supporters.

It doesn’t matter what Mitch does or what anyone what said, or even what the topic of any particular thread is. You and Bearmick will turn it into a bash Trubisky thread.

Even if he plays poorly and deserves criticism, every topic doesn’t need to turn into “badh Trubisky”.

But that’s what you do.

And unless everyone agrees with you, you do want to turn it into us vs them.
why isn't ok to expect that he improve? why is that bashing? he's had two games, he looked bad in both. why? Explain it. it's simple right? either you ignore that fact, or you're just a koolaid drinker. I expected him to improve. he hasn't, two QBs after his pick have improved, Mitch, nope. What was so special that Pace had to take him and not either of the other two doing quite well and improving? he had no college film to go look at, nope. nothing, no experience. I don't blame Mitch, I blame Pace. Period. he fkd the fans yet again. Watch KC yesterday? LOL, you think Mitch can do what Mahomes did?

Edit: why does he continue to miss open receivers or not even throw to them at all?

it's a primetime game. I don't expect Trubs to do well. I don't trust Nagy(tries to get too cute) and Trubs on primetime. Was there a primetime game last year that the Bears offense won? I seem to recall only the defenses showing up on primetime
I predict a three an out on the bears first possession with at least one false start or holding penalty. Classic Bear fk up on prime time. Maybe Cohen running the wrong way again. Classic give back the field play.

Wait I'm a CHEESEDICK for expecting Mitch to not being the answer at QB?

Because you presume he is the answer? I am confused.

Does he put up top ten numbers from here onward? Or is he just mediocre and we "enjoy a sb title" on the laurels of the defense?

Do I have your permission to enjoy the "sb title" while still being disappointed in DSM? Or would that THEN make me a cheesedick?

If so, doesn't that mean Mitch would have to give me a sb title AS I "tie him to the whipping post"? And since he hasn't won the sb title yet, isn't my "cheesedick" status premature until he does?

Clarification please.

Nobody is thrilled with the play thus far, but people swearing we're doomed are exhausting.

i was pretty clear in my post. If Mitch experiences success you'll be pumping his tires. Fair weather fans enjoying victories just like everyone else is a personal peeve, post season success should accompany a dirty Sanchez for you, at minimum.
