Is there anyone else that just doesn't get excited about anything?

I haven't always felt this way. Feels like it's been happening more so as I've gotten older. I just don't look forward to anything, and things I used to be interested in just seem "meh" to me.

Has this happened to anyone else? Or is anyone else like this?

How did you go about getting excited about shit again?

Probably not the best place to ask, but **** it.

My gf and I went to San Diego recently for a week and have another trip planned in about 2-3 months. But yeah, nothing that gets me going haha.

Thanks for the suggestions though.

Read a new book. Seriously opens your minds eye up in unexpected ways.

Write your dreams down on paper. Funny thing is, they become goals once they are out of your head and on paper.

Have you tried to pin down why it happened? Like not being happy with your career, lacking something, etc.

That's where I'm at. Trying to figure out what set it off so I can try to solve it, but even that's hard to do haha.

I work a job where I am consistently drowning in fires/deliverables and/or bullshit corporate politics.

I get excited for weekends where I am more than 50% sure work won't be bothering me.

Get a job where you are swamped constantly and you will be excited for the simplest shit lol

Usually you are full of idiot talk but this time you are right. Our grandparents didnt have these issues cause they had no money and were always working. We have too much time on our hands

For me at least it is health issues. That and lack of money to do much.

It's called getting old...
Only thing that gets me excited nowadays is good food.
Try a new hobby or go volunteer somewhere (ppl or animal)

Getting older, it's rare that you do things that are new. Energy levels go down. You realize that your life is your life and that many of the other scenarios that used to be possible aren't going to happen. I've been thinking about these things, and probably experiencing some, lately.

Lots of things about having kids are tough, and you certainly lose most of your autonomy, but they do help me to see the world through new eyes and therefore to be more excited about some stuff.

I learned how to be a Bears fanatic from my dad, also Cubs, Hawks, Bulls, and Irish. Back in the 80's my parents retired to Phoenix and my mom tells me they are driving to Vegas on Sunday, I say the Bears are playing on Sunday, don't make dad miss the Bears game, mom says that my dad doesn't really watch the Bears much anymore. I freak out, talk to my dad and he tells me that sports are not a big deal anymore, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I'm 60 now and I really don't care as much as I used to, I still watch games, it just doesn't matter to me. My kid is an adult, I'm about to retire so my career is done, sports are a minor distraction at best, bottom line, I just don't give a ****.

Oh yeah, CCS has turned to complete shit, filled with bland, humorless, limp dicks, or maybe it's me, maybe CCS is still populated with interesting clever guys with compelling points of view and I'm just missing it.

Have you considered the idea of perhaps thinking about getting your testosterone levels checked by a medical professional, because if you are a man which is my guess that you are (sorry if that is a bad assumption) and also in addition to being a man, growing older with age passed maybe 30 or so I think that this might be something worth being analyzed because it is relatively simple to fix. My room-mate has "low t" and it is only because he became a vegan and stopped lifting due to injury from veganism and the low t has resulted in him being depressed and not caring or getting excited about anything these days, like he isn't even interested in taco Tuesdays for example, which used to be his favourite day of the week, and when the Christmas edition of fortnite came out he didn't care at all but probably would have been literally over the moon in the days when his glands were making enough testosterone.

I get excited when my kids do well in either school or the sports they play. Other than that, I’ve been alive forever, man. I’ve seen it all and done a lot of it over and over and over again. I’m fucking exhausted.

Do you talk like this in real life?
It might be your yapping that's giving him low t.
If/when you text that girl make sure you use paragraphs and periods.
