I wonder if SJ will try to blow things up after once again, failing in the Conference Finals.

With Dougie Wilson trying to get Hjarlmarsson last year.....what about a Hjarlmarsson (3.5mil for next 3 yrs) for Pavelski (4mil for next 3yrs) trade?

That would be interesting, is Pavelski the one that looks exactly like Versteeg with a helmet on?

Yes he is...good 2 way center...good faceoffs....Putting Morin in the lineip and giving both Frolik and Campoli 500K raises, Stalberg same contract (at best) would leave the Hawks roughly 2.8mil to sign 1 more forward to play on the 4th line ahead of either Stalberg/Kruger, and 1 Dman. (Sign a guy like Jovanovski to a 1yr 2mil dollar deal

)

FORWARDS

Patrick Sharp ($3.900m) / Jonathan Toews ($6.300m) / Patrick Kane ($6.300m)

DEFENSEMEN

You will have to remove the bonus cushion on these capgeek lineups, it will be the last year of the CBA and all bonuses will count.

Very true! But when you remember back to when Bolland was out with his concussion, Belanger would have been a centerman that would have helped quite a bit on our 3rd or 4th line. Belanger> Dowell

Not arguing that Belanger is better then Dowell, but the only thing he would bring is face off wins, Belanger doesnt play physical at all (like Dowell) won't go to the corners or in the nasty areas like Bolland does. Compared to Dowell, Belanger just handles the puck better and is pass smart.

I like this line-up a lot except for Stalberg.

He doesn't belong on any 4th line and I'd rather just see him gone.

If anybody thinks the Sharks are even remotely interested in trading Pavelski, you're crazy. Even if they decide to blow it up and start over, that's probably going to be the guy they build around. I would love that guy on our team, but if Wilson trades him for Hjalmarsson or anyone else from our team not named Sharp, Keith, Seabrook, Kane or Toews, he deserves to be fired.

Agreed, that would be an absolute steal in my eyes. Pavelski is a top 6 forward on any team, possibly a 1st line center at some point.

SJ already has Joe at center...Couture is a center as well as Torrey Mitchell.

Marleau can play center in a pinch/when needed, so they're pretty deep there.

They're going to need Dmen - with White and Wallin both FA's

Boyle will be 35 at the start of the season, Murray 31.

I'd definately kick the tires on it...Maybe Hjarllmarsson and the rights to Brouwer for Pavelski

I highly doubt they would move Pavelski to get a 2nd/3rd pairing D-man, especially at his price he's a steal. I'd say it's more likely someone like Setoguchi get traded. Probably try and dump someone like Heatley but I doubt anyone will take him.

Either way, 3 of their d-men are UFA's so chances are they'll be signing a few guys anyway. Why would they trade a very good center for a D-men in a strong FA class for D-men?

Also why would they need Brouwer?

Most good/any UFA Dman is going to cost 4+ mil and will be in late 20's/early 30's.

Hjarlmarsson is early 20's and his 3.5 is more attractive for a team that has 4 players making 6+mil

Why would they want Brouwer? If they were to move Pavelski, they would need to replace some offence. After moving Pavelski, they would only have 6 forwards under contract (3 of them being centers - Thornton, Couture, Mitchell)...so they would need another wing.

Instead of paying a top 4 dman 5mil on the FA market, they'd get a 24yr old dman who they tried to sign last offseason at 3.5mil....and could probably resign Brouwer around 2.5mil...so get 2 players at 6 instead of 1 Dman at 5

Again..this is a "wish list", I thought...and this wouldnt be bad for either team.

I have to agree with you Ton, I see someone else going before Pavelski. Although I am not so sure they are willing to let go of Heatley as you think.

I think they'd love to move Heatly's contract, but I think his value is too low right now

Brouwer's 200 hits, 20g....take a look what other guys that do that make.

That center depth sucks. If they can't land anything on the FA market maybe they'll look at trades but the plan looks like right now they would try and sign someone first the way they set themselves up.

I agree with you though, if Hammer is traded we should get a center back, although I don't necessarily think we need to make a trade to get the center we need either.

Some comparison cap hits for recent contracts...

Patrik Berglund(Blues) 2.25 million (Frolik)

Ryan Jones (Oilers) 1.5 million (Brouwer)

Similar ages, draft status, arbitration status to the Hawks in parenthesis.

Plus, lets be honest, I doubt sincerely that they'd want Vlasic as their #1 or #2 D-man after Boyle retires after a few more years... and Kent Huskins certainly wasn't playing very long until the playoffs began....

I don't know how deep they are at D, but if they're bringing in players like Desjardins, I'd have a cause for concern and if I were Stan Bowman, I'd expose that in a fair but good trade...

... not to mention Wilson tried to get Hjalmarsson on that contract they signed... So there is some San Jose interest in Hammer, no question there.

Will Wilson be desperate to dump a valuable forward like a Pavelski for the real defensive d-man they lacked last year? I'm sorta thinking that in the idea that Wilson may desperately want to keep his job with new ideas... just like a trade of this caliber...

That is, if he still has a job after the summer is over...

Leverage for Campoli's agent?

Blues re-sign Roman Polak for 5 years at a cap hit of 2.75 million per.

Both are/were arbitration eligible this off season. Campoli is age 26, Polak 25.

Last 3 seasons...

Campoli 220 games, 19 goals, 50 assists, -19, 107 PIMS.

Polak 202 games, 8 goals, 40 assists, -12, 137 PIMS.
