Depending on the health/physicals....these guys may be decent "stop gap" players until some more Rockford players are ready -

Tim Connolly - 30yrs old - last 4yrs -

237gms - 55g - 139a - 194pts - +16

Plays PP...PK...

The bad - injuries. Missed 91gms over the last 4 years. But a 2yr-6mil deal may not be too bad for a 2nd line center/point producer....

Tomas Fleischmann - 27yrs old - last 4 seasons -

262gms - 64g - 85a - 149pts

Was having a really good year before the pulmonary emboli with COL(22gms-8g-13a-21pts)...but not sure how that injury hurts him. May get on the cheap as well, due to that?

UFAs? Or by trade.

People said Bolland was too unreliable to be a 2nd line C, and now everyone's calling for Connolly? Come on.

I would welcome the addition of Brunette. But I doubt he plays any higher than the 3rd line.

Connolly has missed 91gms the last 4yrs to Bolland's 107 so yes, they're both pretty much unreliable. But hopefully one of the 2 will be in the lineup at a given time.

He's much better offensively than Bolland is.

And Goc has missed 98 gms the last 4 years too.

He's got a wicked shot from the point on the PP, too.

Connolly? How much and how long? It have to be really cheap and short. He's had a laundry list of injuries over the years but it's the concussions that are obviously a cause for concern.

2011/04/26 Missed 1 playoff game (head injury). (Last game of the playoffs?)

2007/04/07 Missed 80 games (concussion).

2006/09/14 Concussion, sidelined indefinitely.

2006/06/01 Missed Game 3, 4 and 5 of Round 2 against the Ottawa Senators and all 7 games of Conference Final against the Carolina Hurricanes (upper body injury).

2006/05/08 Upper body injury, day-to-day.

2004/04/04 Missed all 82 games of the regular season (concussion).

2003/10/09 Concussion, sidelined indefinitely.

What are the chances that Montreal sends Gomez through waivers and will work a trade on reentry waivers?

I know no one is going to take his full contract, but at half price he'd be worth it. Montreal is trying to unload him.

Looks like they are cleaning house at the Hogs as well. Most of the RFAs there were not qualified according to a tweet on the home page here; Brophey, Olimb, Davis Connolly, Visneaojkgdkjnski, and others.

What about going after Oshie to an offer sheet?

It sucks, because I think STL will match it, needing to get to the minimum.

They currently have 17 players signed at about 41mil.

But...what about a 4yr-16mil dollar offersheet..would cost the Hawks a 1st and a 3rd...but I think the Hawks are stacked with prospects and can afford that.

I like Oshie but he isn't worth a 1st and 3rd. I don't know just how strong our prospects are to be honest to give up those future picks. I shiver at those offer sheet dealings for more reason that one. I prefer to stay in the other GM's good books.

And remember Sharp needs to be resigned. I don't think people are looking at how much contracts around the league are going up again. The spike in the cap space only spiked player contracts to match.

Rumors are Wiz may be getting offers around the 5-5.5 million mark per season from Columbus. Think about that for a second. Wiz.....5.5 million. Kopecky just got 3 million a year. Markov 5.5 after playing just over 50 games the last 2 seasons.

Sharps agent is foaming at the mouth. We might be looking at 6 per year for Sharp....yah...6 per year.

And Oshie is fucking small. We don't need anymore small little *******.

Oshie is a good player, still has lots of potential and I'd love to have him on our team. Not worth the first and third though, especially since him and the front office in St. Louis aren't seeing eyey to eye at the moment, I think we could get him cheaper because of it. Reuniting him with Toews could be good for him too. Don't let his size fool you though, he can lay some pretty monster hits.

TSNBobMcKenzie Bob McKenzie

T.J. Oshie's one-year deal with the St. Louis Blues is worth $2.35M.

Not happening unless it's a sign and trade.

I don't see them trading him this offseason. Maybe down the road when St. Louis is out of a playoff spot. But I definitely would be surprised if Oshie is there 2 years from now. Kid hasn't exactly seen eye to eye with the people in charge there.

Arnott is available as UFA according to NHL radio. Released/bought out by the Caps. Played well in the playoffs. Worth a look?

The offensive numbers per year scare me... Check out the difference from 2007-08 to 2010-11. 45 from 2010 to 19 pts in 2011 bothers me, especially since he's played a somewhat similar amount of games each year, and the coach definitely has not changed, so that excuse can be thrown out the window.

This is why I'm passing on him. Definitely has been inconsistent the past few years....

If this were 2007-08 I'd take him in a heartbeat. Now? Not so sure...

And to think that the Hawks had JP Dumont at one point. Didn't they trade him for Russian bust Nabokov? I remember being excited with the Hawks getting him since he was such a highly touted prospect. And then they sent him away for Grosek, what an awful time it was to be a Hawk fan.

As stated above, number one on my wish list was unloading the Campbell contract. Mission accomplished. On the same day we get a first round pick for Brouwer. What a very nice gift. I did not like to lose Kopecky, I thought he was good in his role, and he had many of them, but no way would i give him 3 mill a season.
