Shot an 86 last weekend... My 5th or 6th time under 90... I realized 3 years ago that I don't need to hit the shit out of the ball all the time but to just move up an iron and take a smooth swing instead. It took me to 30 to learn that and all of those scores under 90 came since I changed my approach

I'm a fan of PGA Superstore. Better than a country club fitting in my opinion - and it is free. PGA Superstore has the best technology compared to a Golfsmith or Golf Galaxy, however both of those can get the job done. I'm pretty sure Dick's Sporting Goods even has a fitting screen and a decent selection now.

No reason to overspend on your first set of clubs. Do that on your second and third sets as your needs change.
