Fluke? Of course not but I still wait to see him stay at this level for another year before giving him a record contract if possible. You know, there's a huge gap between all pro and fluke. My concern is that he's a franchise guy but maybe not 'that' franchise guy. Baker

Mayfield was pretty awesome in 2018, Bridgewater in 2014, Wentz in 2016, Prescott in 2016. The last guy certainly would deserve a deal but $50m per?

The flip side to that is these contracts are only going to continue to go up, so locking him up sooner than later might not be a bad thing

It's a $20m gap. If he makes that up over the years of the contract (which is not a given), it will be the same length either way so you more than save the difference on the back side. That 1st year of his 3rd deal will be much higher. We're talking a 1/4 billion $ deal. Better be very sure.
