Cincinnati doesn’t have to trade Higgins this off-season and likely won’t. They have 1 more year with this nucleus.
This.
Then they will tag and trade him if they don't want to sign him long term. They will get the same for him this year or next, so why would they not get one more year of cheap #1WR play from 2 guys?

Flores means jack shit when their main defensive players are washed and/or old and they have no cap space to fix it quickly. They've already kicked the can down the road previously.

All while still having to sign J Jefferson to a major extension and he;s probably going to want 30m a year

Doesn't even take into account that Kwesi had an absolutely horrible draft for the Vikings
Exactly. It's like the dipshit hasn't watched the Vikings the last 5 years. They go from winning the division to .500 or below all the time.

32nd overall is basically a first.
LOL. Do you really think teams care? They care about draft slot and not whether a trade value is 1 spot higher or lower. This is an extremely lame argument whether you feel too much was given for Claypool or not and also doesn't reflect the value at the time of the trade. We'll find out next year if it was a viable swap. I understand why it happened but no idea if it was a good get or not at this time.

One big difference is the 1st round contract that gives the team the 5th year option for more team control.
Much bigger difference than 1 slot. There's this stigma about being a 1st round pick but if it were me and I had some confidence in my ability, I'd rather get picked in the 1st few of round 2 than last few of round one. Getting that 2nd contract a year early more than makes up the difference and gives earlier freedom.

They don't have to but they'll be smart to evaluate what they can get for him now and compare to that to what he'll get next year. Bengals will be a contender next year so they'll most likely keep him.

They are now likely to move on from Dalvin Cook too. He either takes a big pay cut or gets waived. They have very little draft capital and are losing talent along with a bad cap situation.

I could definitely see the Vikings as a 7 to 9 win team next season.

I tag him and make him do it for 2 before giving that.
That's a crazy amount and just shows us what Fields will be getting if he improves greatly in the passing game like we all hope and learns how to win in the NFL.

Is sign Fields to a 10 year like Mahomes. Those contracts will keep climbing, lock that shit in.
