Not saying Bears should just roll with Herbert and an undrafted rookie, but this kind of shows that you really can find a RB anywhere. I’d be all for rolling with Herbert and a rookie like Tyjae Spears or Roschon Johnson.
Roschon Johnson would be the guy I’d target. Bijan is an elite talent, but Johnson has great ability also as he’s shown in his limited opportunities backing up Bijan. He would have been the lead back on pretty much any other team. A lot less tread on his tires. Despite the broken hand he recently had, he would be a great mid-round pick up.

Texans trade would great, Colts trade is a bit light.
I desperately want that Texans 2nd rounder this year. Bears could solve a lot of problems with #4 and the Texans+Colts second round picks.

Then, with multiple firsts next year, it provides the ability to take a luxury pick like Bowers along with a necessity.

Yeah, Roschon is one of my dudes in this draft. While, I love Montgomery, I do think the Bears need to upgrade the speed and 1-cut ability from Montgomery. He just wasn't a great fit based on the 1.5 yard per carry difference between he and Herbert. But if you're replacing Montgomery, you have to replace more than a runner. You have to replace his pass blocking and his receiving out of the backfield. I think Johnson gives you both of those elements, in addition to the size for short yardage. And I think he has more long speed than he gets credit for. Plus, he'll play special teams, he'll do it all. Just an all-around back and the ultimate team player.

I dont think you get a future 1st in 1 to 2 or 2 to 4. You'd have a nice stockpile of picks this year though.
