Second and twelfth is such a ridiculous overpay that I cannot imagine possibly saying no. From there the Bears could accumulate just as many 2024 draft picks as they would trading down from first while staying in range of some of the more quality talent from this draft. Houston can only take one quarterback and there are lots of teams who are needy at the position, the market to trade up to second overall probably will not be much less vibrant than it is for first overall.

The Colts might have to still part with fourth overall, thirty-sixth overall and a 2024 first just to move to second and ensure nobody else deals with Chicago or Arizona.

I just don't see Houston offering second and twelfth though.
Only way it happens is if the thought of Indy moving up to #1 and taking their guy scares them into giving up 2 and 12

I wasnt angry at all. I pointed out that you constantly come off as some sort of creep. And then you followed up with added homophobia.

Do you really not see how you come across to everyone? Genuinely asking.
What i don't understand is why you would think that i care how i come off to any of you @Anytime23 puppets? I genuinely don't care. All you ******* were complaining about all the back and forth shit i'd get into with that clown so i finally put the clown on ignore so any of you that were trying to stick to football talk in threads wouldn't have to deal with it. Now you guys get mad when i dislike someone that constantly negs me like it's okay for them to dislike me but i can't do it back, but that's not how it's going to work.

So in conclusion i've come to realize that no matter what i do there's always going to be the puppets that love @Anytime23 that will always come at me no matter if i'm trying to be better on here or not, so no i don't give a shit about any of the puppets in the @Anytime23 crew.

You literally spend halve of your posts posting about @Anytime23 and tag @Anytime23 in your posts about him and also have @Anytime23 inside your signature and @Anytime23 named in the phrase underneath your own username so it is more believable that you acturally do care about @Anytime23 than this post indicates saying that you don't care about him because it's almost literally all you post about so for that reason, I am placing your account back upon my list of ignored IGNORAMUSES.

Listening to the Sirius XM show with Charlie Weis and they're talking about Houston giving up 2 + 12.

Personally I'd prefer Houston's 2024 pick. Give me more lottery tickets in 2024 and keep being ahead of the game with regard to draft capital.
A bird in the hand. A current pick is simply more valuable than a future pick. A 1st round pick in the following year, is worth a pick a round later, according to draft trade charts. So, a 2024 1st is basically worth a 2023 2nd. I'm taking the 2023 1st, 100x out of 100.

He’s gonna go in the 1st round I bet. Like every year, once a team picks a WR, it starts a run on them.
The question is when the run starts. Maybe Houston takes one at 12. Maybe Green Bay at 15, but they've never taken a WR 1st round...and I think if Rodgers stays they trade for a vet as they have 2 young guys from last year. But other than that, you're looking at LA Chargers at 21 to start a potential "run". Ravens, Vikings (losing Thielen), Giants and Cowboys follow shortly thereafter, so that's the most likely spot for a run IMO. But that run could easily last 15 picks til 35, if the Bears make a trade with the Colts. Or at least put the Bears in a reasonable area to trade up, and with a bunch of extra picks to use to move around.

Thank you for jumping in. I appreciate you right now.

All I wanted was an apology for using homosexuality as a punchline. It is rule 2 in a list of 3 rules on here and I really wanted to give him a chance to apologize and walk back the comment. Clearly he doesn't care, as he detailed in his reply.

Vick, who is your favorite player in this draft? Which first round prospect gets you the most excited?

I am 50/50 on that one. I think it has to depend on the crop of first round prospects in the current year. I can easily see a team prioritizing picks in future drafts as opposed to the current draft.

It just so happens that I like a lot of the first round prospects in this draft and would also rather have Houstons 2+12. I dont think it happens, but that would be my preference.

Surprisingly good football take. If Bears trade down (assuming Carter is off the board) and go edge, I still like Myles Murphy the most. He is a disrupter off the edge and he has good bend. Reminds me of a good Robert Quinn. Good motor, quick off the first step, production at the college level. Does need to develop a counter move but the upside is there.

And I'm not saying Will Anderson will bust, but I think with this scheme, there may be better options.

I just do not get all the “scheme” issues you guys have with Anderson.

He’s 250 per an Athletic article interviewing him this year. Thats the same weight as Brian Burns and Mack.

The guy has been top of the lists for two years now and now that it’s draft time everyone starts to overthink it.

He’s a beast. Draft him and don’t look back.

I agree but they did have issues with Jenkins based on scheme and he proved them wrong. That’s what sucks about this might pass up real deal talent for “scheme”

It so easy to understand that yet people can’t figure that out…
Yep..................fix the OL and Fields has more time to find his WR's, fix the DL and your secondary looks a hell of a lot better. This is the way you start to fix the Bears. It is something Pace never figured out.

Tyree Wilson has the edge bend of Frankenstein's monster. He is a quick strong guy with zero counter moves. That plays in the NFL about as well as a Yoko Ono single. He is 2023 Alonzo Spellman. He and Q.Johnson are going to be huge busts if they are picked top 10.
So if they go # 11 or later they will be fine?

Scheme is one of those things that just pisses me off some days. I mean I get you can’t put some 340 pound fat ass at 3 tech but in the end simply can a guy play or not should ALWAYS be the #1 factor in talent evaluation. In my humble opinion at least.

Then it comes down to how far does this team trade down. Trade down to Raiders at 7 or Panthers at 9 then you have to settle for that second group of defensive linemen led by Murphy, but the haul in picks is greater.

For this team would you rather have more picks or that chance at what could be a great player?

On the edge of the DL, at least, I am with you. Seems to my untrained eye that a stand-up edge rusher and one in a 3-point stance are equally effective lining up wide-9. If you have an incredible talent, you make the scheme work for him, not the other way around.

I understand scheme fits on OL much more, though, because you have to prioritize traits for how the team gets the ball to their playmakers. Your scheme may call for RT that can pass block on an island so that you can have all available receiving options run a route. Or your scheme may call for guards and centers to get pull and get to the edge, so you need your interior linemen to be more fleet of foot. There are just some OL that wouldnt work here that might fit in better to the plays Andy Reid dials in.
