I don’t watch enough jaguars football to know, but what little I did watch etienne seems to be the real deal. Their o line is pretty good.

The FA signing all the fans on here seemed to rip was Christian Kirk, he led the team in yards, targets, and receiving TD’s by a sizable margin.

I don’t think Kirk is a super star by any means but take him away and the team definitely suffers.

Oh they have some nice players for sure but with limited cap space they will need some of their draft picks to actually developed into more than just nice players.

Yes true, but any team looking to win needs to be able to say the same thing. If you don’t draft we’ll you won’t win shit.

Sure but the problem is they have had 2 No 1 picks, No 7 pick, No 9 pick, No 20, No 25 and No 27 in past 4 years and really only Lawrence to show for it in terms of Pro Bowl level players. That is 7 first round picks in 4 years as well as basically top 10 picks in every round in those drafts.

The reality is they should already be a SB contender with that much draft capital. So that is why they are in fact not in that great a position. Lawrence is going to have to be superhuman unless some of those drafts picks really take off.

This is delusional talk. Tons of teams live in the bottom half or quarter of the NFL for years and years and years, yet the same teams win the Super Bowl year after year.

Also, it’s way too early to judge their last 2 drafts imo. No reason to say walker or others can’t develop into all pros.

What is delusional about it? Are you honestly saying that if the Bears had 7 1st rounders and 4 top 10 picks in 4 years, you would be content with 9 wins and 1 playoff win to show for it? That would be really disappointing.

And yes some of them could still develop into All Pros. I already said that. The point is they haven't yet and going forward they have limited cap ability to add elite talent and will be drafting bottom half of the league. They are likely to be the Lovie Smith Bears in the sense of being a 7-10 win team never good enough to win the SB and never bad enough to draft high.

@remydat can you share the stats on their OL please and ty.

Pass blocking was 10th. Run blocking was 30. Jawaan Taylor is their best pass blocker and worst run blocking but probably gone in FA.

I remember explicity seeing or hearing Kurt Warner/Tim Jenkins/Trent Dilfer state that this is what he needs to fix the most. That and "play specific footwork" to shorten up the time it takes for him to get to his passing platform.

What's interesting, is this is what Fields himself mentioned as his primary focus this offseason. Given how he always goes nuts with trying to improve any and everything, I'm looking foward to seeing him during OTAs and camp. Once the short/quick game becomes improved, you'll have to worry about that, Fields burning you deep, or taking off. It'll be a nightmare for defenses.

2022 round 3 they drafted guard.
2021 they drafted tackle round 2.
2020 guard round 4
2019 jawaan taylor

Most bears fans are assuming late round pick braxton jones makes big strides. I'm curious where these young players rank as far as pass blocking goes. If we are expecting jones to make strides why can't the young jaguar players make imrovements each year as well.

Sorry if already posted. There is actually worse misconduct in the article than the headline. Like Snyder could be indicted for borrowing $55 mil.from the franchise without the minority owners' knowledge then using it to buy them out.
Danny boy, has to be one of the stupidest mother ******* on the planet... Imagine already having the DoJ, FBI, IRS, and the NFL investigating you, and about to take your team away, and you pull this shit. Money laundering, fraud, possibly more tax evasion, embezzlement.

He needs someone in the room that will just straight up tell him "Dan, you're being a fucking idiot right now. STOP!"

To be honest, I am so disappointed in last year's performance that I wouldnt be upset with drafting two WRs this year with the intent on giving this unit a complete 180. I do not care if Claypool falls apart and we wasted the second if the unit as a whole has turned it around. I do not care if VJJ gets cut to make room for more promising players. Just get that unit fixed!
