I am so snake bitten by WR’s that aren’t available after KW. If they take him and he gets injured day 1 in camp I’m grabbing my pitchfork and driving the Sheep Mobile to Halas Hall! ?
If Poles is able to secure a 2nd first rounder this year, he would be worth the risk, imo. Or if he trades outside the top 10. He has the best ability to turn into a WR1 in this draft class and is the exact WR that Fields needs/would fit the best. Bears don't currently have a guy like him. Someone who is a route technician, will move the chains, and find holes in space. Would complement Mooney/Claypool well. They hammy injury is concerning af tho - do agree there.

Taylor is 3 years younger than both of those guys. He's going into his prime, while those guys are likely to be going out of their primes in the next couple years of their FA contracts. He also is historically a better pass blocker than both (more important for what the Bears need) and gave up fewer sacks/pressures than both this past year.

Not saying he's the best RT on the market, but he's not far off and worst case, he's like the best bang for your buck FA RT if he gets less than those guys.
It always worries me to sign any player that's been bad or average until their final year on their contract when they're looking for that payday. We just don't know why that was. Was he just growing the whole time and getting better or did he not give enough shit until he got in his contract year. Same with K.McGary. I obviously have no idea what it is and know we need to sign someone legit to play RT so just hoping Poles gets it right.

I get it. But in Taylor's case in particular, he's been in an absolute shithole franchise. They've had 3 different head coaches and 5 different offensive coordinators in a row. Taylor has played in 4 different offenses in his 4 years. He also came into the league as a 21-year old, so he had a lot of growing to do as a player and was in a constant state of change. The fact that he improved on things in his contract year, may be due to the fact that he had a real coach for the first time in his career.

Yeah I’m kinda out on this guy. You’ve had all season off and you are saying “you haven’t had enough reps” BUT your hammy is 100%. **** that.

He is 100% correct on this. People train for the 40 so why should he disadvantage himself by running if that training isnt complete.

He is also the worst run blocking tackle in the NFL which is a bit of a problem for a RT.

I would imagine he tells Ryan Poles very nearly the same thing. Fourth is a very nice place to be in this draft if you don't need a quarterback and you will find another trade-down suitor there. He's also not wrong. If someone wants Will Levis or Anthony Richardson, but doesn't want to move up to first overall to get him, fourth overall is the latest you theoretically want to be picking.

Pay it and guarantee mediocrity for the next five years.

Dump him. Can't believe NFL GMs even consider giving the franchise over to average or below QBs, although their own longevity is promoted by not being bad, rather than by being really good, so they choose the safe conservative route even though it makes it almost impossible for them to be great.
Honestly I wouldn't have even considered extending him this year regardless of what he wanted. His breakout year was pretty meh

This moron really believes this shit.

He's believed that he was just a Phillip Rivers, Carson Wentz and Matt Ryan away as well. We're getting multiple picks from somebody, if they want to pick the 4th QB and roll with that, good on them but this guy is 100% a snake oil salesmen and ball don't lie, they suck for a reason - him.
