And Anthony Miller
Bad draft picks happen. Comes with the territory that scouting college players to play in the pros is an inexact science. The contract benefits and amount of team control the NFL affords the franchise who drafts a player makes it worth the risk. There are occasional times where a pick is an obvious blunder, but faulting GM's for draft misses is silly. Mitch Trubisky failed but Justin Herbert and Josh Allen didn't? Could anyone really explain how that happened just from their prospect profiles? I'm sure some people claim to, but they'd be lying.

What is bad about the Chase Claypool trade is that you know Chase Claypool sucks. He had been awful for the Steelers the entire season prior and the entire 2022 season until the point of his trade. That should be all the information you'd need to know he stinks.

I don't think that video was taken today. Or recently. He looks significantly younger and his hair was significantly longer at the Super Bowl

I maintain that Anthony Miller would have been a good NFL WR had he been drafted to a pass happy team. Like put him in KC 4 years ago and I think his career is much better and he's getting paid a ton on a 2nd contract by now.
Agree entirely.

Other guys were able to come in after being traded or signed and make an immediate impact. I'm not writing him off. But it would be a good idea to get an impact slot receiver in the draft perhaps (maybe free agency) so Claypool can settle into that big body/jump-ball/red-zone type threat and not ask him to have to be a superstar. He's got Mooney opposite him already and we know Mooney can ball. JSN in the middle of those two would be a pretty damn good set of receiving options along with Kmet. Not elite bit certainly good enough to say Fields has got everything he needs to show that he's a superstar (assuming the line is addressed in a big way too).

Did those other guys have a QB that throws for 150 yards and who they only played 100 snaps with?

I don’t agree with the Claypool trade but it was hardly anywhere near as bad as anything Pace did

1. Kevin White
2. Mitch Trubisky
3. Mitch Trubisky trade
4. Adam Shaheen
5. Anthony Miller
6. Re-signing Danny T
7. Trading for Nick Foles
8. Hiring Nagy
9. Not cutting Parkey

Believe he traded up for Miller.

He does flashes the signs.. let him go a full season healthy and CCS will be proppin' him up.
I think he brought a jug machine this season after signing with Pitt, same as Velus as is this past season too.

The sooner a trade is done, the better for the Bears. Even if it's not a trade down a 2nd time scenario, for them to agree to a trade so soon, it would mean that they got a deal that they didn't think they would beat over the next month and 3/4.

I also feel like if a team is trading to #1 in the next couple weeks, CJ Stroud is the target. Maybe Bryce Young really blew away teams in the interviews, but Stroud likely had the same interviews and backed it up with a phenomenal workout.
Ummm no. By agreeing to a trader soon they forgo the opportunity to and even better deal closer to draft day.

Nobody is gonna take their offer for the #1 pick off the table. In fact, I bet several teams are gonna wait until the draft is near to even make one.

The funny part is this whole thing started with me saying that the Bears were not going to use both of their top fifty picks this year on wide receivers. But being critical of the worst NFL trade since Russell Wilson threw up some sort of remydat bat signal where you had to come defend the honor of the dumbest trade I've seen the Bears make probably ever.
You do realize that the 49ers gave up 3 first to draft Trey lance?

Or how about when the bears traded up to draft mitch trubisky.

Or when pace traded a future second for a 2nd rounder to grab Anthony Miller.

Or the bears trading away future HOF TE away for a 3rd round pick.

He had 860 yards in 15 games so just under 1k yards over 17 games. ls there a reason you feel the need to lie to make a point?

Oh the Greg Olsen trade was worse. Good call on that.

The others were not as bad. The Niners actually made a great trade to get Trey Lance (those picks they gave up wound up being late round selections), they just didn't make the correct selection with the pick.

Don't care. If he was good then why would Pittsburgh try to trade him?

No it wasnt a great trade. Fiest like the Bears they passed on Mahomes and Watson on a rookie deal to trade a 2nd for JG. They then gave him a 120m deal. Then they traded 3 first rounds to draft a QB to replace the guy they passed on Mahomes and Watson for after he cost them one or 2 SBs including against the very QB they passed on.

Niners have so mismanaged the QB position that they likely turned 2 or 3 SBs for themselves into 2 Super Bowls for the Chiefs.

Moving goalposts. You said he was awful in 2021. This is a bald faced lie. Again why do you lie to make a point? You could just say you dont like the trade. Why instead are you always lying to bash the trade?

Why did KC trade tyreek hill? Why did GB trade adams? Why will Arizona trade Hopkins? This is a pretty fucking stupid statement. Good wrs get traded every year.
Yeah when its time to get paid. Who was lining up to pay Chase Claypool? The Steelers dealt him because idiotic teams like the Bears and Packers were on the phone offering shit like the thirty-second overall pick for trash.

Plenty of players accumulate lots of numbers while sucking. Happens all the time.
