Bears like OL with high RAS scores. Brown's RAS score was not that high. Having said that, there are always exceptions to rules but I wouldn't count on them spending 20m+ on an exception.

Does Fields fit the Bears scheme?

Assuming he improves his passing yes. Gety's scheme is similar to the Niners and the Niners drafted Lance who profiles as a similar QB as Fields. Having a mobile QB in an outside zone scheme can be deadly if done right.

The problem with Zay is he has NO floor. None. He is either a blazing comet or a hunk of dead iron. He is too hit or miss for me. So, I get it, but I’d rather have a big slot like Xavier Hutchinson or Mingo, who tested very well.
Mingo is very interesting...........6-1 220 4.46 in the 40, came from a running team with bad quarterback play. With his blocking ability he is a faster version of ESB while having better hands.

I mean why would you sign a Pro Bowl tackle who's still young, just won a Superbowl for the best QB in the NFL and is available when you have money to burn?

He doesn't fit the scheme. Ok Mike Martz, Greg Olsen says what's up.

Is that why they are starting Lance? Oh wait, they are supposed to seek veteran QB help till Purdy is healthy, yeah they really like Lance in San Francisco lol

What does Mahomes have to do with this?

Point is a coach will lie to get a position, just because the bears hired Getsy doesn't mean he likes him or not. Getsy has had to entirely change the offense for fields, and to his credit he has done so.

This is what Nagy was never able to do.
OK great. I still have no idea what your overall point is.

I have no concerns about Getsy and Fields fitting…. Do you?

There are 5 OL. You can't just change the outside zone for Brown. It is literally the foundation of the entire playbook. It is called outside zone because you run outside and Brown doesn't have the movement skills to do that. So you can sign him but then don't be surprised if he doesn't play as well as you expect because he is a square peg in a round hole.

You said Getsy likes fields because - "obviously he does because they hired him"

I don't see the logic there.

Are you confused. They traded 3 first round picks for Lance. He got hurt this year but they obviously drafted him because they think he fits the scheme.

Think the more important question to ask is why is the reigning Super Bowl champions are willing to let a 26 year old starting LT hit the market?

So you think he took the job knowing his future in the NFL depends upon Fields when really he just fucking hates him secretly or something? He could have stayed with the Packers and AR and waited for a different job if he hated Fields.

Also, what does this have to do with Orlando Brown?
