He missed a bunch of 2021 with a torn quad, but other than that he only missed 4 games in 2019. He's played every other game, so he's missed 13 of a possible 82 games, not including playoffs where he missed in 2021. Even still, you're still talking 16 of 91 games missed, 12 of them in 1 season. Torn quad is a bad injury, especially for linemen, but he came back from it just fine. But that's not anything close to what I would call "lengthy injury history".
I've seen a couple tweets saying that he wasn't up to playing weight last season so he may not have come back completely fine.

Jones was drafted by the Chicago Bears with the 168th pick in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.[7]

Redrafts are from nerds who think they can just mix and match. Reality is he was picked where he was picked.

How many of those redrafts were done by active NFL scouts?
You have so many Monday morning Ls today just go take a coffee break until fireworks start in a few hours

Yea, thats why you sign a Riley Reiff type.

Not sign a 25M Right tackle to play left tackle while benching your actual left tackle so he can "learn".

Straight up, I don't think Jones is it at LT. I sign Brown because the Bears can afford it on a 3 year deal this year and I think Jones is a swing tackle on a playoff team, which is my standard, and if he is better than that, or if the Bears need someone better than Brown, they now have 3 years to get someone in the building through the draft, which is where they ultimately should get their LT from.

Now, if Jones becomes the incredible Hulk this season I will happily eat my words. But I don't think he's as close to ready as some out there have him as. I think he's 2 offseasons away from that level.

Makes sense.

You should let Tyreek Hill and George Kittle know they are ass cause they weren't drafted in the first round.

You obviously are too emotionally invested in this to listen to a coherent argument...

You are entitled to your opinions, your thought process is just broken.

I don't really like Braxton that much.

I just think your thought process is stupid. If teams thought the way you do they would never develop talent.

I'd agree with Van Ness being a blue player. He is raw, but man he has freakish tools. He's strong as shit and has good quickness and agility. Right now, he's only a bull rusher, but if a team that drafts him can develop his pass rush moves, counters, and hand usage, he has double digit sack upside, while being an anchor in edge run defense. I heard him compared to former 49er, Justin Smith, which I love that comp.
If he is anything like Justin Smith was, draft that guy

That torn quad will forever impact him. Then last year he had a hip injury that kept his playing weight down. He is damaged goods and will only decline. Maybe they get one good year out of him?

Sounds like what i just said that i like him but he's a little raw with you saying he needs to develop in the pass rush, counters and hand usage.

Did you pay attention at all to what I was saying?

This year is unique for the Bears. Under most cases, I would absolutely agree on overspending on just ok free agents is not smart.

But with where the Bears are at cap wise, they can afford to take the path I laid out which will give them more insurance in evaluating Fields.

lol, jones is not getting benched for anyone...from everything we've heard about him, he's got a strong work ethic and this offseason will be dedicated to dropping that anchor to stop the bull rush, that was his biggest weakness. this whole getting brown jr is nothing but smoke...the chiefs didnt even tag him meaning they dont think he's worth the money he's asking for.

As I said - sometimes it takes a couple years to get that anchor solid. And for guys like Mustipher, they never are able to solidify it.

The Bears have the luxury of taking out some insurance this year just in case he isn't ready yet.

I mean, who cares about those tweets? He played 20 games, including the playoffs and had a 90 PFF run grade. If that's not back completely, that makes his potential signing even better, wouldn't you say?
