You could just sign Orlando Brown Jr. and keep the draft pick. The Bears really would be wise to keep these draft picks as long as possible, though Laremy Tunsil is the kind of guy to trade for.

KC has extra picks this year because of the minority hires. They could trade for both Cooks & Tunsil. They could use both

Perhaps lost in the shuffle here is how Poles had said before (last offseason) that he likes to work the 2nd and 3rd waves of free agency. Maybe the stuff about going after McGlinchey and others was a smoke screen? Or maybe he's just not willing to go that high? Or maybe these guys aren't crazy about coming to Chicago? Lots of variables.

I assumed him saying that last season was that he didn't want to give out big money deals last season.

Just don't like that he has negotiated his way out of 2 NFL teams so quickly, but yes that is also another top choice...Still, I don't have any confidence Poles makes the move.
