I assumed him saying that last season was that he didn't want to give out big money deals last season.
But he tried to for Larry anyway. I'm just openly wondering. I prefer free agency to be used for filling holes, not for signing frachise cornerstones for big money. Seems Poles is aligned to that, but it would also be hard to believe he wasn't in on McGlinchey and isn't still working on Dre'Mont Jones and a few others.

KC has extra picks this year because of the minority hires. They could trade for both Cooks & Tunsil. They could use both
Laremy Tunsil almost certianly breaks Ronnie Staley's record for left tackle guaranteed money. Can they afford sixty million guaranteed to Jawaan Taylor and eighty-ish million guaranteed to Laremy Tunsil? I genuinely don't know. Its honestly a good investment but they will struggle to keep their defense good enough to win titles unless they hit home runs in the draft.

I just don't get the "we need someone to compete with Braxton Jones" narrative, yet somehow Whitehair and his bloated contract and Teven Jenkins and his injury history go largely unquestioned. Brax played a whole lot better than anyone could have ever hoped for going into the season, playing every fucking snap and being good at just about everything except for handling the bullrush. He's got a full offseason to work on that one thing to be a largely complete and good player yet so many people are like "the O line sucks so we need to replace everyone!"
Agreed it makes no sense Brax will be a steady pro bowler for years.

I like the OT at #54 or whatever pick our late 2nd is.

Would be awful nice to have pick #33 right about now!

And you know this based on the fact he didn't make big signings in a tank year with no $?
Well he made just enough signings to qualified free agents that it cost the Bears three draft picks this year, so don't underestimate his idiocy.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Nebraska Cornhuskers
  2. Villanova Wildcats
This is Poles MO,he is basically a cheap **** that's ok with signing leftovers..
Alternate Though: This is Poles MO, he doesn't want to spend haphazardly in Free Agency because he truly does want to build through the draft.

I don't see any long term improvement from those as a result of the FA's and no super bowls in sight.
Actually if you look at the teams, it was actually the opposite. While those teams may have improved the next year, none of them had sustained success, just short term.

Poles told you he’s not going to overpay and build thru the draft how many times?

You guys just refused to listen or believe him and expected the bears to be contending for a playoff spot this year. I tried tellin y’all.

Poles has to spend some of the money. He waited till the 3rd and 4th waive of FA last season and look at the trash he signed.
Lol exactly. People whining about overpaying, do we forget this team finished dead last in the NFL last year?

His strategy to fix the team last year led to huge signings of Lucas Patrick, Riley reif, Ramon watts, ESB, Dante Pettis.

Fckn nailedit
