The Chiefs are not a stupid team and they just gave Jawaan Taylor sixty million guaranteed. This is not overpaying, this is just what it costs now. If Ryan Poles really is going to sit this out and wait for second or third wave leftovers there's a huge problem at GM.

Though its seriously too early to freak out with Dre'Mont Jones and Orlando Brown Jr. still available.
His strategy is good for a team with a good core in place.

Bears core sucks, gotta overpay to get players interested in this pathetic franchise.

I see you're on the "The Bears did nothing to protect Fields, but don't replace any OL but Mustipher" train.

No I am on the OL getting big money arent actually all that great and I wouldnt overpay when I have plenty of draft capital to get a RT.

People are mentioning it because his pass blocking left something to be desired. He was pushed back a lot in true passing sets. Is LT not the most important piece on an O-line?
He's a young guy who came in pretty green and thus was drafted in the 5th round. He came from a small school and likely never saw anything close in college to what he saw in the NFL.

If you're willing to give time to Justin Fields to work on his deficiencies because he's shown all the physical and mental tools to be able to it, then the same can be said for Brax. He's a really smart kid who holds himself accountable. He's going to get significantly better over the offseason. Were we to pick Paris Johnson or something like that and like him more at LT with Brax moving to the right, that's cool too. I just think Brax deserves going into the season as one of starters at tackle especially when we have significantly bigger fish to fry.

Oh no not the precious scheme that led the Bears to three wins and weekly embarrassment.

Orlando Brown J.r was the left tackle for a Super Bowl champion team. If a coach can't make it work with him that says more about the coach than the player.
Omg this is a stupid take. Please stop with these stupid takes.

If they don’t want to play with the Bears, then we don’t want them. Simple. We can only control the money side. Them choosing there they want to play is out of our control.
Absolutely. It's not always the money factor. Kind of think this may have been the case for Edwards signing today with Bears. Many think we got him for a steal.

And that Super Bowl team has decided to replace him….

"You" dont have plenty of draft capital to get a right tackle, though. Not unless you want to keep running a defensive line that's basically JUCO-level.

Now that I can agree to. Just saying if you draft a LT with 9 and he performs better than Braxton in camp you can move Braxton to RT.

If you believe he made those signings to fix the team I have some bank stocks I can sell you.
Nice so by this logic his plan is to go with the same strategy as last year so they can tank again? Brilliant!

Because they can't afford to keep him in a salary cap league. They offered him a monster deal last summer, if it were up to the Chiefs he would be going nowhere.

Definitely prevents us from getting an impact player on Defense or at WR. High price to pay.
The bears have ignored drafting OL high for a long time - relying on FAs and late round prospects. There’s nothing wrong with going OL in the first

With McGlinchey and Taylor gone, if Bears dont sign Orlando Brown Jr, they will have to pick Sloronski or Paris Johnson at 9 and hopre they pan out. Please dont let it be another offseasonw here we completely ignore the OL and then act surprised that the QB gets sacked 2 seconds after the snap. 5th - 7th rounders typically dont get it done. Invest something in OL for a change
