"You" dont have plenty of draft capital to get a right tackle, though. Not unless you want to keep running a defensive line that's basically JUCO-level.

Lol we have 4 picks in top 64 and DL is deep so yes we do.

Its an option off the board. Most of my preference fo Mike McGlinchey came from how scared I am of Jawaan Taylor's profile and how unenthusing Kaleb McGary is. But if this means the Bears are signing Orlando Brown Jr. then who even cares, Denver can have McGlinchey all day.

For what its worth the Niners are the savviest team in the NFL on the trenches and they are very excited about replacing McGlinchey with Colton McKivitz. That might just be a cost thing, but I reckon there's more to it.

Just so you guys know Orlando Brown Jr. turned down a six year deal worth a hundred and forty million last summer. Mike McGlinchey might cost half as much as Brown Jr. when this is over. This is not an unreasonable deal and while I understand the Bears not matching it, they better not be giving that same sum to a guy like Jawaan Taylor or Kaleb McGary.

Yeah well Jawaan Taylor was a certified bust a year ago and Kaleb McGary's first three years in the league were so bad the Falcons declined his fifth year option (and made basically zero effort to keep him). All these guys have warts, they wouldn't be reaching the market if they didn't.

Well this is how I feel about Orlando Brown Jr. so hold your horses. If they wind up signing Kaleb McGary or Jawaan Taylor for only slightly less than Mike McGlinchey I think it will be very fair to question what the thought process was. And if they fail to sign any of them then we have a major problem.

To be fair that was to play left tackle. Maybe Kansas City still has an ace up their sleeve for Laremy Tunsil. Or maybe Jawaan Taylor is their left tackle? Huge wager there.

The Chiefs are not a stupid team and they just gave Jawaan Taylor sixty million guaranteed. This is not overpaying, this is just what it costs now. If Ryan Poles really is going to sit this out and wait for second or third wave leftovers there's a huge problem at GM.

Though its seriously too early to freak out with Dre'Mont Jones and Orlando Brown Jr. still available.

Dear gosh in heaven almighty my head is spinning and hair on fire from the HEAT of these takes....

Engage Houston on Tunsil. Negotiate a long-term deal with him and make the trade.

What will the cost be in terms of picks? We certainly don't want to give up many, but can afford something. That and IOL in Round 2 would solidify the line in a major way. Is Houston desparate to get rid of his $? They have room. Afraid it could be too costly.

I figured he’d at least get a starting C or RT. One less hole to fill via the draft.

So I would have assumed Dre’mont to Browns was a done deal by now. Wonder if they Bears backed up a truckload of cash. (Pure speculation)

With McGlinchey and Taylor gone, if Bears dont sign Orlando Brown Jr, they will have to pick Sloronski or Paris Johnson at 9 and hopre they pan out. Please dont let it be another offseasonw here we completely ignore the OL and then act surprised that the QB gets sacked 2 seconds after the snap. 5th - 7th rounders typically dont get it done. Invest something in OL for a change
McGary is still there and would be a great RT for us, especially since he excels so much in the run game.

Where is fake insider DBB right now? Oh the Bears haven’t made a substantive signing yet, so you can’t pretend to know about anything until after the fact.

his cap hit this yearis 35m so he can force the issue by refusing to do a deal to reduce that

I think his pass blocking is suspect
Agreed. All these FAs have red flags, otherwise they wouldn’t be available.

Just didn’t understand why people are saying the money is CRAZY.

At the end of the day when Poles dosent sign anyone else CCS Homer's will try to convince everyone else that the FA's available were sub par and the real gems are in the draft.
or maybe none of the gems were actual diamonds.

Literally everyone should know this.

My favorite teams
  1. New York Mets
  1. New York Knicks
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. New York Rangers
  1. Syracuse Orange
Our answer at RT in on the team now. T.Jenkins can absolutely play RT, his only issue is health. I know they won't move him because they think they made some genius move by moving him to RG but he can play RT as well.

The guy that is actually an elite pass blocker that I would target is Tunsil. 2 second rounders and pay him what he wants
Agreed! I just said same. A 2nd this year and next. Maybe a mid-rounder to boot. Would it be enough, or does his price go up with the signings?
