Yeah was using overthecap but didn't realize that 70m already included Edwards as well. Was thinking they may have Edmunds count like 20m this year and then have his salary drop in later years just to help with the cash spend minimum which they have to meet this year. That would be 50m then Nate Davis is another 5-10 again depending on if they front load. But yeah probably more like 45-50m given Edwards already included.

The best way to spend cash this year is a signing bonus.

Edwards Mike and Edmunds Will if I had to guess. Edwards is more of the steady guy and better in run D while Edmunds had an amazing year in coverage and probably more of the big play guy best suited for Will.

I would agree the weakside linebacker in this defense is who you pay

The thing with Edmunds is he will be 29 when this contract is up so likely in his prime for the entire contract.

Edmunds had a 90 grade in coverage while Edwards was 78. But as I said it was an amazing year for Edmunds because historically he has been bad in coverage. Highest grade prior to last year was 55. So will have to see if that was just an anomaly or if he just needed time as he entered the league at 19 and still just 24.
