I'm feeling a Yannick Ngakoue and Trey Pipkins free agency Day -1 Tuesday coming on.
Yannick is tough to figure. He always seems productive, but teams never prioritize keeping him even though he plays a premium NFL position.

Regarding his fit, Flus likes long edge defenders and he’s hardly that.

For the right price, he fills a need until they can draft their prototype for that spot.

Don't get your hopes up for ngakoue. He's the exact opposite of the type of player the bears target. I'd expect ebukam, key, or omenihu

He doesn't fit Poles player mold, but at some point value/production trumps prototype.

The main draft plan by the Detroit pundits has been db @6 and that was assuming they also got Ramsey. But now with a strong possibility Anderson or Carter will be there that will trump all other options. That’s the consensus from talk radio
They will still pickup another CB, but now that they have Sutton, I doubt it would be Gonzalez (their favorite), if Carter is on the board. Bijan comes into play as well, but 6 might be a bit to high for him.

From fan sites, yes, it is well known Detroit needs a backup QB, many people are guessing that will be a developmental QB.
Tune would be a great fit in Detroit.

I saw Tyson Bagent on the board with Mariucci. He’s whip smart. Another possibility…

Would love Key and Ebukam.

I think we are in for one shocker…. Bears trade for Tunsil or Buckner

Jenkins for a pick. Happens tomorrow after the league year starts. That’s my “shocker”. Although after signing a RG it really isn’t a “shocker”.

Highly doubt it
To me, I don't see the issue with signing one or two veteran players on a 1 year deal. They can add a veteran presence to help younger guys and they can be solid rotational contributors even if they are not in their prime anymore. Even if they are not a part of the championship window per se, they can help establish a winning culture.

I could see that as well, curious if they make Whitehair a post June cut as well.
