I hate seeing Monty go - but this draft is absurdly talented at RB and Monty really didn't shine quite as brightly as he did in the end of the 2020 season when he carried us to the playoffs.

It's a 3rd back and special teams guy. He's got good numbers on very limited snaps in his career. This is nothing worth worrying about though.
There were better options at this position to be had. That's all. I have no doubt he won't see much playing time, but if that is the case, he didn't need to be gotten day 2 of FA.

Lol at everyone freaking out here.

"THAT'S the guy we signed to be our 3rd back? They better nail the backup long-snapper spot then or I'm done with this franchise."

I don’t understand how you sign this fucking bum right after Montgomery leaves. Give it a couple days at least. Or why not just draft 1-2 new RBs? Seems like a complete waste of money and pouring salt in the wound.

Announcing Ekeler is what a king would have done. Only homers like Homer.

He's also not a one-cut back like Herbert is, which is why Herbert has found more success running the ball in this system.

Not a fan of this pickup at all. If you were grabbing Seattle running backs, grab Rashaad Penny on the 1 year prove it deal he got from the eagles... At least his 6.2 ypc shows he is effective and production when healthy. This signing is just underwhelming.
I take it you didn’t read the actual tweet

Then why sign this loser right after? I’m with you just draft them, put that extra $2 million towards closing Orlando Brown.

Losing Montgomery isn't really a big wound. We could upgrade by signing Miles Sanders right now if we wanted to. Homer would be signed anyway since we have money and depth positions to fill.

Can he play ILB?

Well, that's what our GM thinks. And he is a former O Lineman, so maybe, just maybe, he knows OL.
I want to believe poles knows Oline but as of now, his previous playing experience is the main proof. The random collection of spotty talent he trotted out last year was not inspiring: Patrick, Reiff, Dozier, Mustipher, Leatherwood. Thank goodness Jones performed better than his draft position and once Jenkins escaped the dog house he looked the part, but our Oline acquisitions and performance with Poles has not been confidence inspiring yet.
