I take it you didn’t read the actual tweet
You mean the special teams value?? I guess that's helpful but I figured day 2 of FA would be more beneficial to find another complimentary back to Herbert than plugging in a 3rd string ST contributor. He may just be camp fodder but it was a dull signing on a slow news day for day 2.

After losing out on hometown Montgomery, "Value Buckets" King Poles strikes again!

Let's hear how great this scrub is and what a great value we got!
It's a 3rd string RB and Special Teams player. Relax.

A little surprised to see this much angst over a RB with a career 3.9 YPC.

Monty is very replaceable.

According to Bears twatters the only possible way to replace Montgomery is by using the 9th overall pick on Bijan Robinson.

Mass hysteria lol. I love it.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Losing Montgomery isn't really a big wound. We could upgrade by signing Miles Sanders right now if we wanted to. Homer would be signed anyway since we have money and depth positions to fill.
Exactly. I highly doubt Homer is getting any guaranteed money so if he doesn't cut it...he gets cut. Cap is not effected.

When Ryan the Pole took over, he started a tear down of the roster. At the time players on the Bears included:

Roquan Smith
Robert Quin
Allen Robinson
James Daniels

A year of much pain and "tanking" ensued.

Now he has replaced them with

TJ Edwards
Nate Davis
Tremaine Edwards
DJ Moore

Exactly! That is what frustrates me the most. Identify exactly who you want at the top and be bold I getting them Then go after value additions. But it seems we really prioritizes LB and the others targeted were negotiable
Whenever a GM prioritizes who HE wants, fans assume he didn't because it's not who THEY want.

4 million for a 3rd string RB makes the signing even worse.

Where's the value Poles is always preaching in that?
Math isn't your strong suit. 4.5 million over 2 years is 2.25/yr. And it was up to 4.5 million, so unless he produces its likely significantly less. He probably barely takes any cap away from the cap space after bumping a minimum salary guy off

Draft isn’t here yet. Let’s wait and see what the draft brings. Homer was mainly brought in for his pass catching/blocking and special teams. I’m not even a big fan of this but it makes sense
