I don’t think they view Cody as a C. My guess is he’s cut.

I think Poles is in on Brown Jr but he’s not going to go past his limit, whatever that may be. The market doesn’t seem to favor OBJ right now
I'm 50/50 on it. As I mentioned in another thread, Poles was with KC when they traded a first rounder for Brown. IIRC, Brown wanted out of Baltimore because he wanted to play LT. So I think his experience with Brown is part of this. I also think he's waiting to see how much the price goes down. I know I'm in the minority here, but throwing big money just to spend is bad business. I like the cap discipline he's been showing during his tenure.

Fixed it for you.

“The thing that bugs me right now about the off-season is the two biggest areas of concern heading into the off-season haven’t been addressed not because of the Bears FO, but from players choosing a different destination. Chaps my ass how Poles can’t rewire every free agent’s brain to have them come to Chicago no matter what.”
1. It’s the GMs job to sell their team as a destination.

2. There were plenty of other solutions at OT other than McGlinchey.

I agree about cap discipline and poles is demonstrating that. He assigns values to these players and won’t go above it. He’ll move onto B and C, which is smart, especially for where the Bears are now.

My guess is he would be in on Brown at around 18-20 mil per season for 5 years and he’d try to front load most of it. Then play him at RT. That’d be a win, IMO

Just taking a look at the deals signed so far. I would’ve liked if we were in on Arden Key, Byron Murphy, Charles Omenihu (pending legal issue) and Trey Pipkins. We’ll see what Rankins and Robinson get.

Him playing RT is a non-starter. His connection with that position is tied to his dad (RIP) and he's been adamant about playing LT.

I'd take him at at that price for LT (max), but that's less than what he's turned down, and I don't think he's worth more. Perhaps he can be had if the guarantees are higher than his original offer.

I think Poles really wants to pick young guys in the draft that can be molded from day 1, which is fine, hopefully he finds the right guys in the draft, otherwise, missing out in FA will bite him in the ass.

Hoping Claypool has a better year this year. It seems when Fields misses it is an overthrow. He has shorter receivers in Mooney and DJ Moore. He needs a big target also. So, hopefully things click this year.

Ebner ran slower than Cole Kmet did last year. @msadows called this.

For a guy who played fast at Baylor, I think the speed/violence that the NFL plays at scares him. Looks like he’s afraid to take a hit
I went to camp last year and he was moving around pretty well in drills and returning kicks. He looked like he had some burst. Once, the season started, he seemed like he was carrying a piano on his back. Just nothing… Kind of strange..
