My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
Bears are finding out they have some players. Fields obviously, Kmet, Tevin Jenkins (his pass pro was missed Sunday), Brisker, Sanborn looks like a keeper for depth if not a solid cheap starter who is NFL caliber, Justin Jones (could be really good paired with Daron Payne or Jalen Carter).

I know he’s hurt out there but JJ has regressed terribly. Might need some upgrades at corner if Gordon continues to struggle.

The idea of pairing the gigantic athletic freak who just leaned how to cover in Tremaine Edmunds with Sanborn? Wow! Sanborn can let him play as lights out as he wants from the WS. He can play the same role on our D as he did for Chenal at Wisconsin. Yeah, give me some Edmunds at WS all day long.

Sanborn appears to be playing Roquan's old role at the Will LB. He's coming off the field on clear passing downs, which is probably what he's going to be going forward. He does rush the passer well, apparently, but is a liability in coverage. He could improve there, but ideally, I think Sanborn is the SAM LB next year. He can start in the base D and get some reps in the nickel depending on personnel and play call.

I'd sign a vet and draft a LB in the Flus mode (long arms, good speed). Let those 2 guys be MIKE and WILL LBs and put Sanborn in the base at SAM. If the rookie isn't ready for full time snaps (shouldn't be a 1st round pick) then Sanborn won't kill you in either spot until the rookie is ready. But he's a long term depth piece. He's Hunter Hillenmeyer to an Urlacher and Briggs.

I could have sworn I was seeing Sanborn playing out of the MLB/Mike with Morrow in the WLB/Will. I haven’t seen any film showing one way or the other, so you may be right.

Also, I haven’t come across a 6’3-6’5 LB that can move like Edmunds in the draft. It seems that pretty much all the off ball linebackers are about Roquan’s size. Now, I’ve been putting what little time I have to look at O, mostly WR and RB, so there’s a lot I have missed.

Also, I can see why Edmunds’ price tag could scare some people off, but, with his athleticism and be found ability to cover, in this scheme, with Sanborn able to play fill for him? Shit. We got 130 mil to spend, and I don’t have an issue with some of it finding its way into Edmunds’ pocket. I remembered he was ok’ing out of the draft, a bunch of dudes were speculating on his pass rush ability. If that’s the case, then he is a true weapon.

Thanks.

From the article posted:
Now here he is, manning the middle of their defense and making more plays than anybody. No, it doesn’t mean he is a future superstar. It means he likely could end up becoming a long-term starter, a vital role player that helps do the dirty work in support of the stars. Think another Hunter Hillenmeyer or Barry Minter.
So, for what it’s worth, this article is saying he manned the middle. I also see him as the role player playing fill, clean up, being in the right place to ensure the D is successful.

Lmao.
I know Johnson is hurt but regressed terribly.
Is this serious?

No corner will look good with no pass rush. This isn’t hard.

I think they are just calling it the "middle" because he's a LB. But Sanborn is lining up weak side of the offensive formation. It's hard to tell, because they only play 2 LBs most of the time, so Sanborn is sometimes literally lined up outside shoulder of the center, but he's to the side with only 2 OL.

There was a Baldinger video on Twitter that had several plays and Sanborn was non-TE side on all the plays, but I can't seem to find it.

Now who were the posters that considered Mills to be a legitimate QB option after his rookie year? Will they out themselves??
IDK

Probably the same ones pining for Cooper Rush and Bailey Zappe and every QB who strings together a couple games of hitting the glorious 250 yards passing threshold.
