I think that they being a 4-2 nickel is what confuses my eye. I’m used to seeing a 4-3 and quickly making the ILB, as the WLB and SLB are outside of him. In a 4-2, even if he’s Will, it still could look like he’s In. Yeah, I’m only going on the game I watched at home, as I haven’t seen any breakdowns of the D, yet. Him being able to play WLB is heartening, because i did not think he had the foot speed to. This is something I really don’t mind being wrong on.
My thoughts as well. He has the ability to play all 3 LB positions (played Mike and Sam in preseason). He's a valuable back at worst, he's a super cheap starter for 3 years, at best.

If you haven’t see this article yet, it’s a very good read.

I don't see the Bears trying to sign a veteran free agent [WR] unless they decide not to bring back some of the vets they currently have on 1-year contracts. I do see the Bears drafting a receiver but not before the third round. The wide receiver class is very deep, and most teams will be able to select a quality player at that position in the third round. As of today, I feel the first two rounds will be dedicated to big guys on the offensive and defensive line, depending on what happens in free agency. [my addition]

I guess I will BUT with the caveat that I only wanted them to take Mills in the mid-rounds if they missed out on Fields, as I had to keep telling people to embrace the pre-draft bs that caused his slide and that Fields is the real deal.

No we had some on here that were saying Bears would have been better off drafting him after the rookie season

Last year was a deep WR class and the Bears ended up with a talented 3rd round WR that is Velus Jones Jr.

Also, he's basically insinuating, that the Bears will only look to upgrade RT. I too assume Patrick will get a shot to actually play the position he was brought in to play next year (C). But even if he's good and you expect Jones and Jenkins to improve, you gotta upgrade Whitehair as well. Sure, Cody is solid as hell, but he's going over 12M on the cap hit next year, and isn't a 12M on the market guy. I think you upgrade that position and RT. Even if it's 1 in FA and 1 in the draft, you gotta upgrade at least 2 spots on the line.

The only rookie WR that is doing anything that was there when the Bears picked Velus is probably Romeo Doubs.

So you're saying don't wait til the 3rd round to take a WR if you need help at WR? Agreed!

Also, yeah, I'd rather have Doubs. But also, it shouldn't be very hard to crack the WR rotation of the Bears, especially pre-Claypool. Maybe one of those guys on the board with Velus isn't getting a chance where they are, would have in Chicago and performed better.

“Justin Fields Can’t Throw” “He’s only a runner” “Make him play QB, he cant pass” “Look at his stats” Here’s nearly 5 Minutes of Justin Fields throwing DIMES

The issue isn’t that he’s not a capable passer. He absolutely is. The consistency needs to be a bit better though. For every wow pass there are some bad throws and/or decisions. Granted, the OL hasn’t been great protecting him and his weapons are bottom of the barrel, but some of it also is Justin needing to be more consistent throwing the ball. It’s ok….he’s young and every player has things they need to improve on.
