Sure but what kind of realistic expectations can you have for replacing 70% of the roster in one year?

Do you think that it’s all going to “come together” with that much new personnel in one year?

Was just joking about how pointless the learning to win thing is when most of the team isn’t even here yet

He’s making a point I’ve been making. It is a very QB top heavy draft. After Levis, Young, and Richardson, there’s Stroud and the mystery man Bagent. From there, it’s a wasteland until the 3rd quarter. Maybe Hooker and Rattler, MAYBE, find a way into the late second.

It is possible, should we get the first, we trade back twice. Once with Detroit or Seattle and then LV, picking up a nice number of 2nd round picks, a pick in the teens, and still getting a top 10 pick.

The goal should be 4-5 picks in the top 50, maybe 6-8 in the top 75. It is a doable goal. If we lose out on Anderson, I’m okay with Verse or Ojulari. If we lose out on Carter, I’m okay with Young or Kancey.

Apart from QB, there might not even be a legitimate top ten in this draft, definitely no OT worth a top ten pick. There is a ton of good talent that would garner a late day 1 to day 2 grade well into the 4th. Maxing hits is the key.

Bagent isn't in the conversation

This falls into the “if it’s on the Internet, it’s gotta be true” category. By the time Wilson was traded, Poles was well entrenched and had already started on his “complete rebuild” strategy. Don’t think giving up three #1s for a 33yr old QB, who was already showing obvious signs of decline, plays very well with what Poles said he was going to do and what he in fact subsequently did. Don’t understand how anyone with half a functioning brain could be gullible enough to believe something like that…
Pace made the offer and Pete Carroll killed the trade. I’ll be polite but this has been discussed on this forum and by NFL pundits many times.

I agree. I'm not sure of the timing of the draft and the signing of free agents. What I would hope is that they do a lot of their free agency moves first and supplement them with the draft rather than the other way around since the talent pool is more of a crap shoot with the draft.

Free agency starts before the draft. So yes, that should be the plan. Especially with the lineman, I could see where their draft plans and their willingness to trade back will be heavily influenced by who they can sign in free agency.
