This argument is idiotic. Let's say Lions had drafted Fields last year and like the Niners played the vet Goff ahead of Fields last year. Is it truly your argument that this year the Lions would still start Goff ahead of Fields? If so, you don't understand how football works. Goff is a placeholder QB. There is no scenario in which a team would start him over a 2nd year QB drafted in the 1st round the year before. None. If the Lions had drafted Zach Wilson, they still would start him over Goff and give him every opportunity to keep that job before going back to Goff.
And your argument greatly bends the context of mine. I will grant you that IF the Lions had Fields, yes, he would start, but based on the future, not the present. But then again, obviously they didn't think that much of Fields, or otherwise THEY WOULD HAVE DRAFTED HIM DUMBASS!

The context of my argument is based purely on who will have the better year in 2022. Not on who projects into the future as having more POTENTIAL upside.

I heard this same crap when y'all had Trubisky, how did that play our for you?

But spare me the "but but but, this time THIS quarterback really really really (fingers and toes crossed) is the real deal!!

Listening to Bears fans talk shit about Goff after Glennon....Trubisky.......Foles.........Dalton...... it's comical. But hey, fifth time is the charm, amiright?

Goff has thrown for over 4500 yards twice in his relatively short career, something no Bears QB has ever done.

@Anytime23 hasn’t been posting in this thread and there’s still 10 pages of back and forth with a usual suspect of derailment. Maybe one day we’ll call this for what it is and shoot him into the permaban abyss and make this a better place.

Anyways, I’m going to continue to lay here on the beautiful inter-coastal and get some sun. Watch the boats go by. Everyone have a great Labor Day well except for the worst poster on CCS, keep crying and being miserable.

Thanks!

He dropped a TD pass that he had in both hands and then looked like he was loafing on a route that was to him and he wasn't even looking for the ball which was on target and then dropped another short pass that hit him in the numbers. I'm an FSU fan so i watched the whole game last night and did see him get frustrated on the filed and his QB with his arm around him trying to calm him down on the sidelines.

Of course when one of the Bears biggest needs in next years draft is WR one of the top two gets hurt in games one (Jaxson Smith-Njigba) and the other has a bad case of the dropsies and maybe small character concerns.
Figures. That explains a lot

What is the need for that? Can we get a mod to ban this bum? Fields will make the Lions regret they didn’t draft him. He’s going to prove it this season. Goff has thrown for over 4000 yards with the Rams, who have a great HC/OC. Something he won’t ever do with the Lions.

Your best bet is to just ignore them as whining about it just ensures it continues and is just annoying as whether it is your fault or not in a given situation you have already burned a lot of bridges and exhausted any goodwill. So no one cares which side started it. It is childish and juvenile by both sides and you need to come to terms with the fact no one is going to have your back on this because of your history. If I whined every time people invoked the vortex then I would find myself in the same position as you. Report them privately if you must but stop letting it get to you.
I genuinely tried to talk some sense into him but he ignored that advice and instead resorted to going back to disliking several of my posts as retaliation. He'd rather play victim than talk football or accuse everyone and their mother of being alt accounts rather than realize it's because of his shitty posting style. It's annoying AF.

As for actual football talk, I see Mitch Trubisky was voted a captain for the Steelers but Mike Tomlin won't say whether he's QB1 or not. I'd actually feel bad for him if he wasn't QB1 after being voted captain, that'd be awkward for everyone involved. Also said Cameron Heyward, T.J. Watt, Najee Harris and Miles Killebrew were also named season long captains.

If Trubisky was named captain then he has to be QB1 heading into week 1. Like you said it would be really weird in the locker room if he was actually QB2. I don’t get why Tomlin isn’t announcing it. There is no advantage to him holding onto that decision right now. It’s not like he’s deciding between Lamar Jackson and Tom Brady.

WTF????? He is going to sit Jenkins and play Mustipher? This proves Mustipher has pictures. How is it not obvious to them when the whole world sees Mus getting shoved into Fields face most of the time. Jenkins must have really pissed them off. Sit your best lineman to allow a crappy scrub to play.

Makes zero sense.

I don't read too much into coach or GM speak. Could be something as simple as they actually like what Mustipher's done in the meeting rooms or on the practice field and want to recognize that in a public way without actually saying what they're praising him for. Maybe they are genuinely happy with his play, I don't know. I will hope that he's hyping up Mustipher for trade discussion purposes.

It could just as easily mean that Patrick is on the bench. I doubt this will be the case but the coaching staff is not handing anything out and jobs must be earned. I'm good with that.

I agree with this. Allot of posters are having a stroke that others think this team is a 4 win team. The success with this team at least this year isn’t wins and losses it’s going to be how the young players do
Damn right...............I think the majority of Bear fans just want to see a competitive team week in and week out. Let's just sit back and watch this young team get better every week. As you said win/loss is a secondary concern.
