  1. Houston Rockets
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Oklahoma Sooners
Honestly, this is the most impressed I've come away from a Bears HC / GM search at this stage of the game.

Ultimately the results will be what matter, but the quality of people the Bears are interviewing and the wide net they are casting feels like this is being done right for the first time.
Agree 100%

Wolf's Wiki states:

'is an American football executive and scout who is currently a front office consultant for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He was previously the assistant general manager of the Cleveland Browns, and before that, he served in the Green Bay Packers' scouting department for 14 seasons.'

I also find it interesting Wolf is 39 and he served in the Packers scouting department for 14 seasons. The kid has some chops.

The list of GM's is very impressive. I am pleasantly surprised.

Bears requested permission to interview Patriots’ director of scouting Eliot Wolf for their GM job, per source.

KEEP EM COMING!!!
This is a big one. He is a solid option. Experience in GB and NE is great, and some time with the Browns who are a very analytical forward org is great exposure. He will also shed some light on if McDaniels is interested and if the Bears should be interviewing him.

Agreed it just comes down to making the correct choice.

I don't remember how Emory, Pace, Angelo, or Hatley ever did it. I guess I remember Fox being pretty resentful that he got fired. He mentioned something to the effect that "watch Nagy jave success with the team I built"
Seems like any coach not picked by new GM is an instant lame duck?

For such an old school tough guy type, Fox sure seemed like kind of a *****

Some very good options and possibilities seem to be out there. Wolf/McDaniels sounds like another one to me.

Sure looks that way. I like the high level positions in multiple successful orgs.

from his wiki..
Oh he's only been there since 2020 so maybe the bad drafting over the years has only been on BB.

Still absolutely nothing from Harbaugh. The longer this drags on, the more it looks like he's not serious at all about leaving. You'd at least think he'd take an interview or two to make it look like he was interested so he could get more money out of Michigan. I have no idea what he's doing right now.

Everyone saying that this is a replay of Acoris are mistaken. This is the correct way to do this. Gives me some hope.
Im kind of split about having hope at this point. On one hand, we've seen this before where they cast a large net, interview a ton of people and then make a terrible decision. At the end of the day, George has final say, Ted has input and Polian has decades of relationships and potential bias.

On the other hand, there is something that gave me a sliver of hope when i listened to the presser again. Wiederer asked what factored into the decision to fire Pace and what will factor into the hiring of the next GM. George said a couple things that seems so obvious but are constantly a little in-town stupid for people who let fandom get in the way of objective analysis.

First he said wins/losses, which should be a given. Then he said when evaluating the roster he's looking for "difference makers" and "roster construction". That is why Pace is gone. What have me and you bitched about into the ether the past couple years? There is a lack of legitimate play makers/difference makers on the team and it has been built mainly through FA. George has been looking at this team through dongbears goggles. Overvaluing warm bodies and mistaking them for difference makers. All he saw were GEMs! Bill is old as dirt but its not hard to watch this team and say "yeah, you dont have a lot of talent".

Its still hard to look past George's awful judgement. I'm hoping that Tanesha Wade can at least be there as a counter to whatever handout Polian will inevitably try to give to one of his connections. Hopefully she's there to actually prevent bias and not push her own.
