Because the free agent class of starting point guards is subpar, a source told ESPNNewYork.com that the Knicks are in the hunt to land an amnestied starting one, and they expect to get Baron Davis.

He was bought out so no amnesty. He's free to sign with whoever and no need to wait 48 hours

Richard Hamilton has been bought out of his contract with the Pistons and will be placed on waivers.
This is not an amnesty decision, however.

Getting Rip will be a definite upgrade over Bogans. Would it put us over the top? No, but if we can get Crawford and somehow keep Brewer, then it works.

@jwquick: Breaking: Blazers determine center Greg Oden has suffered setback, and restructure his one-year deal for a lesser amount

at first I wanted to laugh... but I just feel bad for the guy

The Blazers have terrible luck with players and drafting. Sam Bowie, Brandon Roy, Greg Oden. Lol

I would take Carter over Rip and/or Crawford. But a part of me is still curious to know if we can still squeeze out one of the RFA's. (Afflalo, Young, Stuckey)

You can't be serious. Over Rip, okay I can understand that, but over Crawford, no way in hell! Crawford is 10x's the player that VC is now. This Crawford hate is really puzzling me.

I don't want anyone of those guys, but it's apparent that impatient fans are bringing pitchforks and torches to the Berto Center until the Bulls make a bonehead move.

But this isn't a bonehead move, that's why I don't understand the hate. It vastly improves the weakest spot on the team with the best 2 available right now. If we were trading, say, Noah for JC, I can understand, but Brewer!? Dude is getting paid $5mill to play some defense.

This is a good move for the Bulls. It makes us better anyway you look at. It seems like people look at him not being a great defender & automatically the dude is trash. JC can ball. And next to Rose, in merely a matter of minutes or hours because IT IS HAPPENING, Crawford will be better than most of the haters think.

They will be paying Crawford like 7-8 million to play offense. Brewer and Bogans locked him up after game 1 in the playoffs. Wade, James, Chalmers, and Battier would do the same thing to Crawford.
