Whats a necessary sack?

Hmm good question. I have an example of a necessary sack. A QB’s team is up at the end of the game and they are just trying to kill the clock. He steps back looking to throw but no one is there but the defense is getting in his face. That would be one example of a necessary sack. Better to keep the clock moving than throw it away and stop the clock.
